averaging 350kbps data on Sprint TP2, wtf
is anyone else experiencing this? I used to average 1000kbps on my old TP2. Ive only had this phone for 8 months and the data is actually usually ok, but inthe last month its gotten so slow, its bad. I dont have time to call Sprint either during the day. Any ideas? Ive tried several different towns and its never good.
Actually, the wifi is slow as well. Sitting a few yards from the router and I only get about 460kbps. The laptop gets 4400kbps. |

Call sprint during the evening.

ok dumb questions. have you updated your PRL, profile and updated to the latest Sprint radio? The latest radio is 2.32.00WF and the latest PRL is version 60664

Re: averaging 350kbps data on Sprint TP2, wtf
I have that radio, but my PRL version is 60660. Guess I'll try updating that after work and after I hit the gym.

You should always keep your PRL up to date. I wish they would be able to push the latest PRL automatically to the customer. |

Didnt try any regedit tweaks? Like changing the tcp window size? Or use tcptune.

Re: averaging 350kbps data on Sprint TP2, wtf
i've stayed on 60659 prl, and have the new sprint radio, and I usually only get 400-900 kbps

50kbps wtf? What, you in a dead zone allmost or what? Even 1x goes faster then that. Scarey ... sounds like dial-up. yuck

Re: averaging 350kbps data on Sprint TP2, wtf
I also average around 50kbps all the time and the EVDO icon is on the task bar of the HTC TP2. I am on Sprint also. So, there real conclusion is, internet speeds on Sprint are not even close to what they brag about or more sadly as advertised.

Not everyone gets the same results and service isnt guaranteed indoors.

Re: averaging 350kbps data on Sprint TP2, wtf
Not to be off topic but this is why I see 4G as a definite upgrade.
My 3G data speed is all over the place all over the place also. So based on the comments here, it appears to me that they've patched together & maxed out all they can on the 3g pipe without consistent end results. Now, it could be just some network issues but I tend to think that moving ppl off of 3g onto 4g alleviates some of the bottenecks & would improve speed. |
