The TP2 turned out to be a pretty good phone
So, if you're like me, next month you get to play with the Evo4g as much as you want... and I honestly can't wait to get my hands all over that phat screen with the 1ghz processor on board :).
But before I could bid farwell to WinMo or WinPhone 4EVER, my TP2 broke down with the now plague like sleep screen of death. I took it in to sprint and got another TP2 pretty much brand new. With about two weeks to Evo4g, I've decided to give WinMo6.5 the new owners treatment by visiting its marketplace, using some of the new and official apps available, tweaking out the interface, just about anything to try and make this transition period barable (the wait is KILLING ME). I've grown to dislike the TP2 prior to now. Not cause it sucks, its better than any phone I've ever had, but when compared to these new phones i see in the blogs, its very much.. meh... but now that i think about it, this phone is pretty awesome. High res display, super good speaker, decent battery life, full web minus flash, some pretty great free apps from market place, music player anytimewith multitasking... besides the larger screen, appstore, and camera, im not really getting much of an upgrade, not to mention how great this keyboard feels. I'm typing this up on my TP2 and i still cant see how im going to live without this key board when i txt like all the time. (and oh yeah, snapdragon upgrade, how did i forget lol) Well, just incase you wantanother phone right now and all you have is the TP2, DON'T RUSH IT!! You still have one of the best phones on the market. Honestly, I dont think betters coming till the Samsung Galaxy S Pro drops, but that qwerty sexy phone might not make it to my carrier :( If your waiting on your next phone, sip some tea and take a look at the great stuff M$ has put together, along with an upgrade to mightyrom, or any of the other chef specials, its like having an all new device |

The LG ally with keyboard is out for pre-order today. They supposedly have a WM version in the pipeline as well.

Rant On
People are just going crazy over wanting a EVO, well you know what? its going to have problem's its going to have issues just like any other smartphone out there. there are going to be people that hate the screen or there battery is going to suck and the list could go on forever. Just find what you like and if you can make it work for you GREAT. glad that you like your TP2, Me I am going to have mine for along time I am feeling as the future does not look bright in my opinion. Enjoy what you have and be happy that you can have it. Rant off lol. |
Re: The TP2 turned out to be a pretty good phone
I love my TP2. I am running MightyROM Impact with Cookie Home Tab and Advance Home Tab and a variety of other programs. All my information is accessible easily and organized almost perfectly. I took my phone off the charger about 10 hours ago and have been listening to music all day either in my library or Slacker Radio and now have 40% battery. I love the way Outlook is integrated and syncs my tasks, emails, and emails. It does everything I need and it does it well. This phone is fantastic! I too will be getting an EVO on the 4th, though I am sure I will still show my TP2 some love every now and then.

Re: The TP2 turned out to be a pretty good phone
id much rather see people go crazy about the EVO than the upcoming iPhone, I'd only get the EVO if there was a way to also run wm on it otherwise ill just be sticking to my tp2 till a.similar spec'd windows phone 6.5 or 7 comes out

Wirelessly posted (Sprint TP2 6.5 stock: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 8.12; MSIEMobile6.0) Sprint T7380)
i got my evo for 100 bux out of my pocket & will hold on to my tp2 unless if sum1 offers me a decent amount which i highly doubt. no1 i know wants a windows phone unless it was for free. but back to the fact i spent only 100 bux if i dont like the evo or if something more appealing comes out i want, i cant lose considering what i paid. no offense to those that live by windows, but im excited to be ditching this laggy thing that for what it retails for shouldnt require massive tweaks, cabs, reading, learning to reg edit & so on . . . for it to b halfway stable. who the ef wants to hard reset every other night n redo all the settings ? eff flashing although u guys rock who make roms n cabs n sh*t but i got to much else to do in life. but i do appreciate those who took time out to assist me in my winmo troubles . i just want a device that is reliable & is all i ever wanted. hopefully i find it with this |

Im pretty sure theres gonna be a way to dual boot the Evo since the HD2 pretty much has the same specs. I give it two months or so. Still, no reason to get the new phone without interest right now. Pretty much, if big ass screen and 720p don't win you over, this phone isn't offering much. I checked out the ally, its nice, but i don't see it being better than my TP2, but i havent seen it in person tho. @dumpringz, 100bucks? you are one lucky dude lol |
Re: The TP2 turned out to be a pretty good phone
I flash my TP2 waaaaaayyyy too much. :) I love to mess with my phone. One of my daughters (I'm old so my kids aren't teens) has a TP2 as well, totally stock. She doesn't let me flash it. She loves it and doesn't have problems. I think SOME of the issues people have are because they expect something different . Just my opinion.
I have a different daughter who has had sooooo many problems with her Moment, but my husband has never had an issue with his Moment. I guess my point is phones are weird and your expectations sometimes dictate your experience. |

@meatgel - I think you are exactly right with your closing statement (in more than just a cellphone experience as well). |
