However I've grown weary of:
1. Sluggish Screens
2. The number of soft resets required every week
3. The pitiful state of Windows market place
4. The necessity of spending hours finding the right programs to tweak the phone
5. The number of hard resets necessary and the hours spent bring the phone back

I probably could go on, but those reasons are enough for me to move on next summer to Android. Rather than learn the lessons from Android WM7 seeks to give users less control rather than more control modifying the system and using 3rd party applications.
For it's lousy browsers alone, WM deserves to become irrelevant as Android matures.

+1 for me!

So what??

Why is waiting until Android grows up a little & actually does all the functions you have today in WM a bad thing??

What I meant is that Windows Phone Classic isn't going to have any support once 7 comes out.
So you can either leave now for Android now, or do it for WP7 later.
Either way. Android can do most of what Windows Mobile can, even in its current state.

still loving windows mobile on my hd2 and touch pro 2...
I mean when my touch pro 2 comes back for repair via htc soon due to the newton ring issue. Above that, I am loving windows mobile. Some of my biggest gripes - the on screen keyboard and multi touch are becoming less and less with resco keyboard and some bsb tweaks. Above that I will go to wp7 and hopefully it will be on my touch hd2 because this demon is too massive for it not to be wp7 unofficially
but yeah windows mobile still
edit
and I don't see the fascination with the evo 4g it just doesn't get me all excited sadly

You think people aren't developing because they don't want to develop for the platform... Or because they will be developing something totally different as soon as wp7 comes out so why waste time developing for an OS that will no longer be supported by Microsoft due to the new OS?
Why do you think we don't have an official Pandora app for Windows 6x but they already announced the one for wp7?
New phone with new OS new development once phone is out.
Just my thoughts.

+1 on this. Withg WP7 not using the .NETCF it's not just a simple switch to code verything over to WP7. Devs are gonna have a hard time justifying hours spent into WM6 with only a couple more WM6 devices going to be released. Plus everyones either switching to WP7, Droid, or iPhone.

What really cracks me up is, for the last six months everybody has been raving about the awesome TP2 hardware keyboard (legitimately so)

Now, all of a sudden we don't need a hardware KB anymore?? What happened, did everybody give up texting so they could buy a shiny new phone LOL (that in its current state has less functionality than a Windows phone)....

Everyone gets the "Joneses" bug and wants to jump to whats cool. I've already seen a couple ppl with EVOs switching back to their TP2s. Give it a couple months and the forum will be packed with threads about "Upgrading their EVO to a WP7 phone". It just is what it is. The way our culture has programmed us. But thats another thread...

yep, pslim and brownhornet were all over the nexus one, bashing the tp2, now they are on to the evo and probably bashing the nexus one. I can't see jumping carriers every six months to get the latest and greatest phones.
My checklist for my next phone:
1. sprint 4g
2. hardware keyboard
3. at least 1ghz processor and 1gb memory
4. either wp7, 6.5.x or android OS

I can wait for a while.

especially fooling with the incredible in my spare time and the hd2...I mean two snapdragons are enough for my taste!
Just above the 8 mp and the 4g what's the fascination...I don't get it

i think the evo satisfies the needs of alot of members here. most just want eye candy and that's what andriod brings. i read some of the threads where folks weren't trying to make their winmo phone work better, just wanted it pretty. congrats to those folks, but i'm sticking with what i know works very well with my pc :).
