There is a service called "CM Guardian" that forces #777 settings back to default. Stop, then disable the service using your favorite Task Manager or Registry Editor.
I haven't tried the tethering hack since I upgraded to 6.5. So I'd be interested to know if it helps. |

Found it under HKLM/Services..
We shall see if it works... I deleted Dll value key the under HKLM/Services/CMGuardian and it did not prevent the phone from rechanging the Force Cell connection value. As long as I never have to reset the phone or turn it off, I'm good, it's just that changing the registry value every time the phone power cycles is kind of a pain. Bummer! I was hoping that would work. If you eventually figure it out post the solution. I'd like to get tethering working again myself.

Here is a cab that will disable the CMGuardan and enable Sprint as a connection.
