Touch Pro 2 tethering hack issues
I've noticed that after I change the registry to allow access to the Sprint network instead of forcing the Phone as Modem, I can tether the phone to my PC with no issues..
But, I have noticed that if I turn off the device, or do a soft reset, the phone automatically changes the registry value back to force the Phone as Modem connection. Is there any way to fix this? The .cab file that I downloaded in the tweeks thread did not fix this issue. |
Re: Touch Pro 2 tethering hack issues
There is a service called "CM Guardian" that forces #777 settings back to default. Stop, then disable the service using your favorite Task Manager or Registry Editor.
I haven't tried the tethering hack since I upgraded to 6.5. So I'd be interested to know if it helps. |
Re: Touch Pro 2 tethering hack issues
Found it under HKLM/Services..
We shall see if it works... I deleted Dll value key the under HKLM/Services/CMGuardian and it did not prevent the phone from rechanging the Force Cell connection value. As long as I never have to reset the phone or turn it off, I'm good, it's just that changing the registry value every time the phone power cycles is kind of a pain. |

Bummer! I was hoping that would work. If you eventually figure it out post the solution. I'd like to get tethering working again myself.

Re: Touch Pro 2 tethering hack issues
Teathering does work, I just have to change the registry if the phone powers down.
