why does opera work better on the iphone than WM6.5?

here is a video of opera working on the iphone, notice how there's no checkerboard pattern at all.

why can't we have that on wm6.5? (is it because i'm comparing opera mini to opera 10?)

Well, on my Touch Pro 2, Mini 5 vastly outperforms mobile 10. I don't get any checkerboard on mini 5 at all, and it loads pages probably 10 times faster. But that's because the technology is completely different. Mini sends pages through Opera's servers, which strip down the pages by up to 90%, resize images etc, then send it to your phone. Mobile 10 downloads the raw page to your phone, raw images,and renders it on your phone itself. That's a lot harder on your phone.

So you really can't compare the two, since they use completely different techniques.

you're right, i just tried mini 5 and its blazing fast!

whats the opera 10 option, opera turbo suppose to do then? i thought that option sent everything through opera servers.

might become my default browser over opera 10.

You do know that Opera Mini 5 is available for WM, right? It's only been available for a few weeks.

Opera Mini 5 works great. Any way to make it the default browser so that it launches from the Internet tab and uses the favorites shortcuts from that tab?

Ok call me a noob but I need to figure out what is the difference between the opera that is on the 6.5 and the opera mini now???? I mean the opera mini is super fast while the other opera is slow??? What advantage does the other opera have over the mini???? If they can both view the same things then why not just choose the mini??? Can someone clarify what is what???

Opera Mobile is a full featured browser that supports javascript and plugins while Opera Mini doesn't. Like if you wanted to do a search on the forum and you hover over the search a little box appears well that would only happen in Opera Mobile not in mini. There are other differences as well but i'm od lazy.

Opera Mobile 10 has Opera Turbo. If we turn this on, shouldn't it perform similar to Mini 5?
