Error 202

I am having the worst problem with the 6.5 ROM.

I downloaded active sync 4.5 since I am running windows xp. I synchronized my phone to the computer without problems. Active synch shows an active connection so I open the exe file and it goes through all the checks and then I get a message for ERROR 202 connection problem telling me that the USB is not connected/USB cradle. I did a soft reset and still shows the same problem. Should I reset computer? What am I doing wrong?!?!
