Sprint will release the TP2 6.5 update with Manila 2.5.
 

After talking with an insider in Sprint this evening I have obtained information that the new Windows Mobile 6.5 for Sprint will be running Manila 2.5 version 1922. The insider spoke about all of the extra goodies that The marketplace will bring to the TP2 with some of their own apps that will be there. This person informed me that the reason why they are still waiting on this update was due to some last minute issue with the landscape portion of the software. I have been informed that these issues have all been worked out and that the software will be out well before the end of the month. Cheers fellow Sprint users. Once this update comes out the chefs will have a really great rom to build off of. Any feedback is welcome so please let's chat away!!

I only see one issue with this being true ....... I know that build 2122 has the eReader Tab and Footprints and Documents Tab where as build 2011 does not. If they are truly going to go with build 2122 then it will run significantly slower than build 2011 (which was 1st found on a Touch Pro2 ROM where the build 2122 is from HD2). If all of this it true, thats great because even though it is a Sprint ROM I know the Chefs around here will be able to use the Sense Files to improve our current Sense 2.5 ROM's. I myself will never be able to go back to a stock ROM because I know that they always run better and more efficient as a Custom ROM. I also think that this tread should be moved to the General Forum because this area is for actual ROM's not news/ Rumors.

This will actually ship with 1922 which is the older build. So I did not say anything about 2122. I know that is from the Leo. It seems with going with 1922 correct me if i am wrong but that was the first rom to get 2.5 landscape truly working isn't that right. After a bit more chatting with this person Sprint is beginning to circulate some online videos for internal usage which will provide everyone with training as to how the new software will work. It is funny to me that there tech support people don't know the software for Windows Phones like the guys in this forum. PPCGEEKS Kicks ass!

All the Verizon guys can come over to Sprint we will take you in with open arms guys!! That is funny because I saw the images for the verizon manila 2.5 was that just dust in the wind or will they roll that update in the future.

well...not to rain on anybody's parade...but like some of the members previously said, unless there's something in writing from sprint regarding all this information, it will just be considered rumor. numerous threads about somebody having the inside hook up saying this and that...but info did not pan out. another thread actually just got closed early this afternoon regarding an update. that thread grew to epic proportions within the 1st day.

but with all those experiences....to see something in writing is to believe.

Shokouhi, Thanks for the manila 2.5 heads up!!! I really hope your source is accurate and personally I believe what you say to be true. I have a very good feeling about shokouhi's tip. We will all find out soon enough. No need to slap him in the face for telling us his info and unless he was lied to this info sounds very promising.

i do too and he shouldn't be upset if we don't believe him. Build 1922 is from leo. we already saw that the upcoming verizon tp2 rom with sense 2.5 has build 2011. That verizon sense 2.5 matches up nicely with the leaked topaz and rhodium sense 2.5 from a couple months ago. it would make no sense for sprint to have 1922 as 2011/2012 are optimized to work on our slow tp2.

I work for Sprint and I've heard NOTHING. That being said, neither has the data representative for our region. Normally speaking, we hear about major SW updates 2-3 weeks ahead of time, so having not heard anything yet I seriously doubt it will even be released in March. It wouldn't be the first time a piece of marketing info had some bad information on it.

Posts like this always remind of of the kid in the mall who is with their parents and act out just to get attention from others. It is a cry for help caused by some other deep rooted issue. LOL

Seriously though I think it would be great that a policy would be put in place that if someone is going to be willing to step out and post something like this then they should also be willing to put their entire reputation on the line. I know that not all of them have a high rep but the ones that do should be given a good e-flogging. Trying to guess when something is going to be released is like trying to give a 10 day weather forecast.

if verizon and sprint would stop bsing and listen to there customers a actually cared for a working, stylish , and functional phone like we do leaks would exist. they take like 6months to make a update that ends up still sucking! yet we have checfs here that in 5days or less can compile a rom that is near perfect or at least better then theres. And our rom tend to work on more then one carrier!!

Well if we think about it, the OP that said he heard it from a little birdie that it was going to release the updat on 3-10 might still be correct. He probably misunderstood 3-10 with the actual date and not Month and year March of 2010.
