What a surprised.

With all due respect, if you read through the definition you listed it virtually precisely describes what has happened.

An if you go back to the long explanations of that, that I have written that is clearly correlated.

If you read that post it supports its not stealing and you have other options.

An btw its not the majority of my post that show red misspelled lines in the sections of quotes to reply.

Not that I don't make a goof or two but when you have to repeat virtually every 500 word post you make 10 times its bound to happen.

But I typically will catch most of those an make corrections.

Ha Ha cant even correct typos in your post defending your retardism! And you be careful...take your own advice before verizon comes after you for slander.

I don't think belittling people, questioning their ability to write, and just being rude is not the point of this thread. It's a message board with fast replies and not as well thought out rough drafts get posted.

Your argument of stealing Wi-Fi isn't very intelligent to begin with. Not one time was there an advocation of stealing internet. If you're at home and you turn on your Wi-Fi connection on your TP2 it's not stealing, just the same as if you used your laptop to connect. Same with at work. For hells sake, get with the program. Stop the unfounded accusations. Please!

Um yeah and how is it we have established I am stealing WiFi?

I myself posted a response in support of a very post that you made a few posts back on how I strongly I am apposed to any form of stealing of WiFi, in fact , it has been the main crux of everything I have been talking about not steal anything.

So how on this Gods green earth could I say all that an then be thought of as someone who does or supports stealing of WiFi.

Your really lowering yourself with these accusations sg and an as such are really not supporting much of what you say.

An again, (man) no choice is not a choice.

Why do you think that wanting something but then going away with nothing because you are not allowed to have it is any form of a choice?

Re: Data Plan Required

I'm just hoping to spark a little more understanding and while this situation I will describe doesn't exactly match what I do now, it is pretty much exactly what I did on a daily basis before I signed up with SERO.

<hypothetical>

I am a Sprint customer. I've been running along fine with my Samsung clamshell phone on an Basic talk plan for $29.99 per month. I am happy where I am, because I don't text nor do I use or plan to use data services. I'm out of contract, but again, I don't care because I am fine where I am ... but I have an itch.

I want a new phone which I plan to use as a phone, but I am thinking that I could also use it as a Personal Information Manager (PIM). I remember back in the day when I had my Windows CE device, before phones and PIM's converged.
I buy a Touch Pro II from eBay. I pay whatever for the device on my own, therefore I do not receive a new phone subsidy from the carrier. I figure that, similar to my Windows CE and Palm device before that, e
ach morning before I leave for the day, either via USB or WiFi, I'll do the following:
1. Synch full text RSS feeds
2. Synch full weather forecast data
3. Synch calendar updates
Throughout the day, I may or may not have an opportunity to use data via WiFi at the various "free" (McDonalds, etc.) hotspots which may or may not be affiliated with or sponsored by a carrier. Not being able to use WiFi away from home is not an issue, because I can use my PIM as an electronic version of a Franklin Planner, only making updates when I can plug in at home.
(Why in the world would I buy a Touch Pro 2 is a valid question, but those of us who have been around for long enough, remember the Windows CE and Palm V electronic organizer / planner. These were around $599 retail and served basically an electronic Franklin Planner that could only sych data via USB or WiFi.)
So, I call Sprint to register the ESN on my account and I am told that the device REQUIRES a data plan. I understand that the phone doesn't require over the air data to function, so why do I need a data plan. I go around and around with the service rep and I finally realize that they aren't trying to up-sell me and get a comission, they litterally cannot register the ESN without a having an account with a data plan.

</hypothetical>

Now this might seem far-fetched, but I am what might be considered an old-dude. Frankly, if I weren't on SERO, I have no doubt that I would be on a basic (talk) plan for $29 per month. I don't text and I don't need data. These are conveniences that I enjoy on SERO.

Why in the world wouldn't Sprint, or Verizon for that matter, alienate me as a customer? Why would they lock-down their systems and require a data plan to register this ESN, when they have no new phone or contract renewall subsidy to recover?

Best regards,
-boggsie

That's what myself and WBFAir have been arguing for a long time through the pages and pages of posts. It doesn't make sense at all because it doesn't cost them any more to have us as customers.
They have nothing to lose but some paying services to gain/retain. We've established in this thread that they possibly make more revenue by extorting $30 more per month for the uneducated(with respect to cell phone options) customers data plan. Basically the "low" amount of pissed customers who can research and don't have to put up with their tactics jump ship to other companies ie PAGE PLUS CELLULAR who charge you for what you want. The losses Verizon experiences from this might not outweigh the increased revenue from their extortion activities.

If you had actually read the posts you would understand...(why I put clarifications in parenthesis). My arguements are clearly defined and supported. Not making accusations either...but free wifi is BASED ON PURCHASE FROM "FREE" WIFI PROVIDER. Can I make my point any easier to understand? If you are not purchasing anything from said provider or use someone's personal home wifi to connect then yes you are stealing...making your arguement hypocritical. Sorry I insulted you and called you names (lol) but honestly...I have not "lowered" myself aside from accurate name calling.

Oh I read it, kinda had too to have quoted it wouldn't I and to be correct what it supports is that YOU think its not stealing.

Actually the stealer is never is concerned about whether or not this is stealing as he is the one doing the stealing.

Its only the one who's getting stolen from that knows or see its stealing because he is the one who is getting stolen from.

Like I said p, prove me wrong that non of the people who are being forced to pay for this data plan against their will feel they are being stolen from by supporting to make this a choice.

If you are right an I am wrong then non of these people will drop their plans as they will all see it your way and you will be proven right an I will be proven wrong so what do you have to loose?

But as I said, as long an as hard as you or anyone else doesn't support that, it just shows how you know that would not be what would happen as you know that so many would dump those things in a second it wouldn't even be funny as they know full well they are getting robbed and how they are getting robbed and how it is wrong.

Which all this means visa vee that you know this is wrong too as why else would you not support that if you were really sure you were right as if you really were, you truly would feel this would not happen and since then there would be no loss to you, you would have no need to be afraid of it.

Well all I know sg is that all the WiFi I use is either via my own cable companies WiFi that I pay for, or some form of freely supplied source and by that mean I do not have to hack into anything to get it, not whether I did or did not also by a burger as Wendy’s

To which I also mean that if this is the way it has been obtain, I consider it to be freely there for my use in this way by their intent as that is how they have provided it to be by not having it require a password.

An for any other times if it does require a password of some type that I am using, such as at a friends house or a company I am doing work for, that password has been provided to me with full knowledge of the provider that I have it and will be using it and their service.

An again I don’t know how or why you would have considered me to be doing anything else or supporting that anyone else should be by anything else by what I have said.

Oh an btw seeing as your are such a sticker for correct spelling an seem to think the point of this thread is about who is the best spelling bee,

…the correct spelling for argument is not arguement, there is no e after the u as you have spelled it.

Just thought you should know as you wouldn’t want to be considered a hypocrite like me.

just a quick question for dtrush and wbfair. did you have a smartphone/ppc with a regular voice plan before upgrading your account to the tp2 and renewing for another 2yr contract with big red?
