Wow....this was a long thread to absorb.

Good time to disconnect and go outside and grab some Vitamin D since dead horses are getting beaten severly.

The principle we're trying to defend is that someone shouldn't have to pay for something they don't want or need.

Let's dumb it down for you in a similar scenario to see if you can comprehend what we're trying to say, OK?

When you see that a new movie comes out and you want to go and see it you make plans to go to your favorite theater. You've gone there for years and you've always been happy with the seats, cleanliness, employees or whatever. You head out one day to see the flick and after you pay for your ticket you walk through the door with your wife or significant other and the usher pulls you aside and says "hey buddy, I can't let you guys through to see the show". You figure WTF...I paid to see the show!!! The usher explains that they just got a new popcorn machine, and a new soda machine and it doesn't appear you have either of these items in your hands. You kindly tell the usher that you don't want any popcorn or soda as you're not hungry or thirsty. You just want to see the show you paid for and that you've been going here for years and didn't have to pay for those items in the past unless you wanted them.

What do you guys do in this situation?

I chose to forfeit seeing the movie at that particular theater even though I was OK with the admission price. I could care less rather or not they got new equipment. Sure, that popcorn may be mighty tasty and that soda better than I ever had but I don't think I should have to purchase it just because they purchased the equipment to make it.

I hope you all can understand what is being discussed here. I'd find it hypocritical based on principle for you to attend the theaters next time without purchasing a tub of popcorn or a drink so that you can support the movie theater, increase their profits and provide them with better infrastructure so that it makes yours and everyone elses movie watching experience that much better

Well, I would choose to move on to another theater. I wouldn't continue to bitch about it and say they are stealing from me, I would simply say that I would rather go to this theater over that one. It's like the hookah bar by my house that requires you to buy a drink with the hookah. Instead of going to that one, I'd drive the extra distance to go to a hookah bar that doesn't require it. I don't bitch about it on hookah forums or anything, I just go somewhere else. It is a consumers market out there. If you don't like the service being provided, go somewhere else. Go to AT&T or T-Mobile, get the phone GSM unlocked and get a free phone from them and just switch the SIM card over. Then, you can quit your bitching. =D

You're whole argument is wrong and you're only looking at it one sided which is why no one responded. Your talking about losing money, because the customer will walk away. Trust me their making way more money by letting the few walk away that wont use their features and charging those that actually want it. Man I understand what you are defending but you're not realizing if they don't charge they will never be able to upgrade their services. As a consumer I want the upgraded services and Verizon or any other company has to figure out a way to bring it to me. NOBODY IS FORCING YOU TO DO ANYTHING. If you want to use it on vzw's network them you have to pay them. Otherwise buy the phone full price and Dont activate it on their network or activate it on metro. Its that simple.

Your right on your topic and with all your statements dtrush and I’m with you and I apologize if by my posts this thread has gone a bit off skew but as you can see.

No matter how much you show how wrong things like this are, there simply are those who profit from it and just don’t care what effect that has on anyone else as it gets them what they want and as such, in their minds they will always find a way to justify this.

Its kinda like Hitler and Charles Mason always thought they were right and justified in their actions no matter what.

I know how hard it is to contemplate to people like you an me an all the others who have posted here and/or read this thread and learn about this and get how wrong this, but you have to understand that non the less there are those out there that will always care more about themselves then others and will do what ever they want and take as much as they can as they are just so broken it typically is pretty much impossible for them to think in any other way.

I did, but after I had paid for admission and they changed their policy with out letting me know. I did change carriers technically so I have no problems with where I'm at. We were discussing is the hypocrisy they have from requiring some phones to require data whereas some phones do not require it. A phone is a phone. I already accepted the fact that big red will do what they will and there's nothing I can do besides go somewhere else like I did and I have stated before.

This posts is dead on. Hitler thought he was right but in the end he was wrong and there was a world war. Slavery was wrong and there was a war. There will be no war over this nor is there any discussion about this so there is no problem. People and companies do only care about themselves and you will never be able to change that.

I've herd a few posts on this an haven't looked since I was shopping for the TP2 a few months back but back then I don't recall anyway I could have gotten a TP2 without getting the data plan.

So just out of curiously, has that changed?
