Create Custom Folder Icons Using Sashimi

Create Custom Folder Icons Using Sashimi:

Seven Easy Steps
(This is how I do it anyway)

Step #1

Find the icons you want to use ( I think this is the hardest step ).

Step #2

Using
Total Commander or Explorer create the folders you want by going to windows/start menu/programs. In this example I created a folder "Tools". Create as many as you like.

Step #5

Goto:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\

Copy the "Startinfo" to your storage card in "\Storage Card\SASHIMI\Auto\Reg" then copy the key to your PC

Step #4

Open "startInfo" with note pad on your PC and find the following as an example. You only need to copy it too your PC so you can read it.

There will be something similar for each folder:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start\ Tools] <- this is the folder (Note: Folders don't have the ".lnk")
"Group"=dword:00000001
"Icon"="\\Windows\\Start_Icon_Tools.png" <- this is the icon it uses
"ItemPosition"=dword:0000000a
"Rank"=dword:000003d8

Rename the PGN icon/s the same as what the folders icons name is in the registry file. For example the icon is zoneicon.png rename it "Start_Icon_Tools.png"

Put the PNG in:

\Storage Card\SASHIMI\Auto\Root\Windows (this copies it to windows folder)

You can also copy it directly to the windows folder, reboot your phone and the icon should appear.

Do this for each folder you want to create a custom icon for.

Step #5

Now copy your entire "Start Menu" to \Storage Card\SASHIMI\Auto\Root\Windows (don't worry its not that big)

Step #6

Goto "\Storage Card\SASHIMI\Program\INI"

add this line/lines to "deleteops.ini"

[DeleteFolder]

folder1=\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

Step #7

Either reflash your phone or just clear storage and let Sashimi run. It should basically copy over your icons to the Windows directory. Then delete your start menu and copy over your customized menu. Then add the registry information for the folder icons and their positions. You don't necessarily need to do this if you have copied over the new icons to your windows folder. You can wait for your next upgrade.

When it boots you'll see all of the icons that you set (or should see) and they should all be in the order you set them. Now the trick is when you install a new program you need to copy the icon for that program to "\Storage Card\SASHIMI\Auto\Root\Windows\start menu" and the desired folder. Next time you flash all of you programs and folders will be in your set order. The only time they wont is if you move a folder. If you do this you just need to recopy "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\startinfo" to "\Storage Card\SASHIMI\Auto\Reg"

For a Kitchen

Create a folder we can call it "Icons - My ROM" inside this folder create another folder called "files". Take your startup.reg (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\) and rename it app.reg place this in you "Icons - My ROM" folder. Then Copy all of your icons to "files". Copy all of this to your kitchen. Open the kitchen and set it as true. Also I still use step 5,6, and 7 above. The only reason is that its the only way I know to remove the icons other wise you will just end up with a start menu loaded with icons. It will still work just everything will be in the startup.

Re: Create Custom Folder Icons Using Sashimi

in the help folder in sashimi is a sample-deleteops.ini file just add the line he put above to that, change the name to deleteops.ini and move to the programs/ini folder as described. Hope this helps

Re: Create Custom Folder Icons Using Sashimi

I can't figure out this deleteops.ini for the life of me. I've put it into the program folder, I've tried running it manually in the file tools...my icons are still there....
