the simple answer is no. cdma does not allow talk and surf the same time. can it be done...of course. but it is up to the cdma carrier if they're going to pour re$ource$ to upgrade/update the hardware on their devices.

well ofcourse i know if it is possible to do it we have to make some changes to the phone settings or something like phone as a modem... and I know CDMA phones does not allow to do that but remember that they came out with the palm pre which is CDMA phone and it does that..

I am 99.999% sure you're wrong on that.

the only way the pre or tp2 could do voice/data at the same time is with wifi.

ahh, one of these just got shut down. it can't be done, the network won't allow it. only with wifi..

That is the limitation of CDMA, nothing you can do about it..only way around it is:

1) Use wifi for data, cdma for call

or

2) Use VOIP for calling.

CDMA is limited to 1 ESN per session

again...IT IS A HARDWARE ISSUE. it is not something you can install as a cab tweak if the carrier does decide to upgraded the technology. but you have better chances of seeing pigs fly than see carriers do this update in the near future. if youve seen this done, like what everyone else said, that person may have been using wifi for the data. or was trying to make false news to get people looking for the hype.

but your saving grace is that there is a palm pre that is gsm.

It is not really a hardware issue as it is a protocol issue..future specifications such as SVDO and etc to have this but they will never see the light of day.

That said there is a way to make the TP2 cdma do both...security unlock your phone, put in a sim card and use GSM >.> lol

Wimax though will allow both..(not o tp2 ofcourse)
