Okay everyone is kinda arguing in here. So if it is about firmware or whatever as everyone says, then has someone ever came out with a cooked rom with this capability?/?

Also let me say that Im not sure if there is a GSM Palm pre or not but my GF has the Palm Pre with sprint and it is a CDMA phone and she is able to do that with out any hacking or anything like that

please post a video of your gf's pre making a call and using the web.....without using wifi. Its not a conspiracy, if it could be done anyone here would be glad to point you in the right direction. Accept the facts

Nobody says it's a firmware thing -- it's not. It's about the network protocol being used, EV-DO rev A. It does not support it. Period. End of story. Done. IF the CDMA carriers felt like upgrading to a newer version of CDMA, they could add this functionality, but they're focused on 4G (which should support this, by the way). That will require a new phone though. No currently deployed CDMA network can support this.

I don't know what you think your girlfriend's Pre is doing, but it cannot have an ACTIVE data connection and an ACTIVE phone call at the same time. What it (and the TP2) can do is have an active data connection but still receive a phone call. The data connection will stop. You can use Wi-Fi while you're on the call.

Damm do you really have to be that serious about it. Im trying to obtain some information not bringing u to court and protest about it
