To get into bootloader mode

Make sure your phone is off.
Press the end call button, vol down, and power button
That should do it!

If you can at least get into bootloader I would leave it there and try flashing Mightyrom, its clean and works great.

Wow, that can't be good. Maybe the battery is no good. If not, you have a truly bricked phone my friend.
It would help to know the ROM you tried to flash. Maybe you flashed a CDMA ROM and you should have flashed a GSM ROM.

maybe it is truly bricked. I have a CDMA phone and flashed roms on it from time to time but maybe i accidentally flashed a GSM rom that was in a CDMA thread on xda.. but if so that i did brick my phone....would it just shut the whole phone down so it wouldn't even respond to a wall charger showing signs that its charging

XDA is a great site although a lot on that site is GSM. I was warned about that sorry you probably were not. Also, from what you are saying it does sound bricked. I was hoping you would be able to get it into bootloader and try a different rom. Well good luck.

Not garbage. There's some threads floating around here on how you can damage your new paperweight in order to get your carrier to allow you to get a replacement phone for a $100 deductable (Going rate from what I gathered) using your insurance instead of paying full retail for a new one.

Heard stories of everything from a 10 second microwave nuke to sticking a 12 battery with some wires in the charger port to fry the internals. :P

Note: I don't advocate doing ANY of this. I'm just saying it's what I saw on the forum.

The 10 second microwave nuke does work, I also dont condone doing it but I do know someone who ended up do that because all it does is erases all the data on the phone so when insurance opens it up there is no traces of what went wrong. Good ol HTC making TPs with a magnet base.

Re: Flashing roms problem

if your phone doesnt power on at all they will most likely replace it for free at a sprint store just dont tell thm you were trying to flash roms, but if you dont wanna take that chance why not just reported it lost instead of risking blowing something up.it could be the battery.A real brick looks like a static tv on your phone screen there was a thread on it here sometime back.well it sucks your having phone problems hopefully all works out for the best, goodluck.
