calkulin's kitchen - 6.5.x rom built but some questions

so i just built a rom in calkulin's kitchen (1.6). i'm extremely happy with the outcome but for the life of me i can't figure out two of my problems.

first, there's no autorotate whatsoever. sms/mms doesn't autorotate and tomtom doesn't either even after the reg tweaks.
i know the g-sensor is functioning because teeter works and the calibration works.

second, on titanium, when i go to pictures>all photos, when i push the camera icon to start the camera, nothing happens. this is how i normally go about opening the camera. however, if i open the camera via the start menu, it works fine.

these two issues are minor and not stopping me from enjoying it, but i'd love to figure them out if not for a learning experience.

from searches, nobody is having these issues, so it's got to be something that i'm doing. i'm guessing it's not a fault with the kitchen, hence the reason it's a new thread.

Not like there ain't plenty of MightyROM questions in the "uncatagorized" section that get plenty of legit assistance.
