Looks like they put a spin on the name so you wont feel robbed for buying what they don't like to call "silicone"

So has anyone tried both the Praetorian Crystal Slip and the Slim Rubberized Shell Case from Boxwave and give us a detailed comparison?

I've tried them both. I currently have the Praetorian Crystal Slip on my phone now. In comparison of the two, the main thing that I was concerned about what the ability to remove the back cover and put it back on. If you find yourself resetting a lot get the gel case. The feel of both of them is great, its the untimely drop when the perfect case matters. While both of them held their own during the drop (yes, I bought them both just to test them because my wife needed one for her TP2 and she lets my 1 year old son play with her phone..TEP FTW!!!) The only advantage that the gel has over the hard rubberized case is: THE TABS!! Sure you may drop your phone it may not even phase the case but if those tabs start breaking on the rubberized case, you no longer have a case! The gel on the other hand is just that: ALL GEL!! there are no plastic tabs to grab onto the phone, only flaps that go over the phone that stay in place. And if you flash as much as I do and know that during some point in time you may want to reset it, go with the gel. repeated removal of the rubberized case's back cover may make the tabs weak and they will be prone to breaking. Accidents will happen, I just didn't want to buy another case if, and when, it did. I will most likely replace the phone before the case 'breaks'!

What about the detachable swivel belt clip for the rubber case? Is that a factor I should consider in my choice?

Re: Case for Sprint TP2

I personally don't use it, I actually broke it LOL!! It comes down to what side you have it on and how frequent you take it off the clip. I forgot it was on my hip because I am use to having it in my pockets and I ended up breaking the clip while getting into the car. Plus, you leave the screen exposed, and that can lead to a lot of unwanted scratch issues. Like when you are sitting down or getting up, putting on your coat, etc. Even the best screen protector is subject to a deep scratch. (I have seen it happen on a zagg, its not pretty!!) If you are very conscious of what you are doing and where you are going, use the clip. Just be warned, it is very easy to have your phone stolen from you that way too. Its best to just "keep it in your pants" LOL!!

Re: Case for Sprint TP2

Between the two Boxwave cases which one is the thinnest? I have an old vertical belt clip leather carrying case from my HTC Touch that the TP2 fits into comfortably right now. I would still like to be able to use this leather case with the added protection of one of these Boxwave models. I would opt for the one with the thinnest profile.

Re: Case for Sprint TP2

The rubberized case is the thinnest. I would say that if you going to put it in a holster, go with the rubberized case. The gel is a little bit thicker, but not by much. It fits in a holster as well but due to it being like velcro when it comes in contact with leather, its a little more tricky to take out if you need to get to it quickly.

i just got my case in today and its great! feels very nice but i do have a problem. my upper is bigger than the bottom on. is yours the same way? what i mean is that looking at it from the side, the upper gel cover is a few mm bigger than the bottom. its bothering me! im not sure is it they sent me wrong one, or is it supposed to be like this. :dontknow:

Re: Case for Sprint TP2

I know that the two I bought the tops were bigger but its only on the corners for that extra cushion due to those corners always being the first things to hit when they are dropped. In due time you will not even notice it.
