I'm not a windows mobile guru like you guys, and I can't really tell all the time from the posts who is really the guru to listen to or not. I have a WM5 Sprint PPC-6700. However, imaginary or not, using different methods of transferring data I have seen an improvement after putting in the Hypnotic2010 Internet Tweak HKCU+HKLM.cab.

I'm sure you'll "dis" my method, but here it is anyway: I used GETYTV to pull the same video repeatedly and saw (or maybe just dreamed) 25-50% improvement from before to after the install. I would like to know what "tweaks" the cab actually did - I found the ones supposedly not valid in my WM5 set as the posts say. One reason to know the actual changes is GETYTV stopped displaying the little youtube pictures associated with the file - reminds me of a memory error with iexplorer I've seen on XP with lots of picture icons getting downloaded.

Can someone bust open the CAB and let know what was actually changed? Thanks and glad you guys are beating it up for WM novices like me - I'm just an old VMS bit setter. Ben

Basically the cab makes these edits at HKLM & HKCU in the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Microsoft
Windows
CurrentVersion
Internet Settings
On the Edit menu, point to New, click DWORD Value, and then add the following registry values:
Value name: MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server
Value data: 32
Base: Decimal
Value Name: MaxConnectionsPerServer
Value data: 16

The Hypnotic cab is a combo of two tweaks. :)

I installed the following cab: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/images/attach/cab.gifSH4Ys Raphael Net Speed Boost.CAB (1.3 KB, 566 views)
Instead of my internet spead increasing, it decreased from 850Kbps to 227Kbps. Now I can not remove this from my phone. Any ideas on how to uninstall it? I installed it to the device instead of the storage card.

Have any of you guys tried mini opera? I tried the test with it on verizons 3g and got a 5594.406 for the 2mb test. Tried it multiple times and got some from 3400 to 6250. Seems fast to me even without any tweeks

Make sure turbo mode is off if you using any Opera(mini or mobile). Turbo mode uses comression on Opera servers and confuses/corrupts the test. Or just use PIE(pocket internet explorer from MS) for your "real" speed

OK using internet explorer,

1mb= 1185, 1452, 1372
2mb= 1412, 1228, 1774

IDK, still seems faster then most posting here. Its either that or this thing isnt that accurate. (and yeah i know that a lot varries ie amount of people using etc)

In HKLM/Comm, what is BootCount for? I noticed on my old TP its only set to 2, but on my TP2 its set to 16.
