any time you want to use a sound as an alert it must be in .wav format. once in that format simply copy to your \windows directory and you are good to go. i use winamp as a media player and it converts .mp3's nicely to .wav

Thanks, that does work but I copied to windows directory as mp3 (like ycats said) and that works just fine, don't want to have to convert the files.
