Re: outlook problem
Can you provide the exact sync error code?
|
Re: outlook problem
What email does your work Use??
|
Re: outlook problem
It isnt a code just a message, error synchronizing, unable to connect to server, check all settings, blah blah blah.
My email address would be name@companyname.com I have checked with IT, made sure I have everything exact and noone but me ios having a problem. They are all on blackberry and iphone, I am the only winmo user. |
Re: outlook problem
Can you sync successfully while connected to your work PC while connected to your company domain?
I'm surmising your issue is OTA(over the air) and without any specifics this is difficult to resolve as there are a myriad of variables involved. I think you will need to look to your IT Staff to provide resolution as there could be specific Exchange settings involved which I have no vision of. In the meantime, I found a link worth reviewing - HERE |
Re: outlook problem
I should add that I am not trying to sync via USB and laptop/comp. I am trying to add a new email acct onto my phone, using the new account tab under messages.
is there another way to add this acct, that I am unaware of? All I want is to be able to get my work email across my phone |

Re: outlook problem
Is your company using exchange servers? Make sure they have enabled active sync on your account (its different than a blackberry setup). Also, the server address could be different than the one used with pc's outlook. Try the webmail server, if not already.
When creating the account on your phone there are two ways to get the mail. You can join your company domain, or use your phone as a trusted device and just use active sync. What type are you trying to setup? |
Re: outlook problem
They told me it was an exchange server, or they assumed it was. They only have experience syncing BB devices so I may have to teach them a thing or two.
Give me a list of questions and settings I should bring to them tomorrow and ill see where I get. Let me know the difference if they are on exchange vs if they arent and what different questions I should ask, settings I should have them change. THANKS!!! |

got an email today saying that they wont change server settings if it means messing up the sync with RIM devices. should be able to run any device concurrently right? not just one brand.......? |

Sounds like your IT department is "outsourced". They are probably reading the wrong web page for your situation. Try a different contact. Someone there HAS to know what they are doing. Dont give up, they can do it. Its not that hard. |
