Re: HAVA 1/26/10 Update

My next remote viewing box will be the Hava since Sling keeps pulling stunts like they did with the new windows mobile slingbox release. With the old boxes that work perfectly fine, you can't do full screen video. I can understand it being 4:3 but at least let me zoom so it fills the screen on the phone on one side. I'm not watching postage stamp video on my TP2.

Plus I think the Hava WinMo player is free and Sling's is not free.

Re: HAVA 1/26/10 Update

Has anyone loaded this? I removed my old player, installed this one and it doesn't do portrait at all now.. only landscape.. plus doesn't have a menu button to add a hava device, but when i click play it says the list is empty and add one. I am using MightyRom.

Anyone else given it a try?

Re: HAVA 1/26/10 Update

I like my hava - it was cheap and has been pretty reliable at least since I gave it a static ip. The mobile player sucks though and there support is horrible. It really is a good product - just needs a little better support.

I would think this release would fix landscape mode on the tp1 but who knows - It took them FOREVER if this release even fixes it. Wish they made a tp2 version.

Re: HAVA 1/26/10 Update

Well, we are hosed again...until someone cabs up some hacks. The version I was using, havaAAAMobileClientWM6PE640X480.cab that came from Lefty I believe (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=1288721) , no longer works because of Hava's update on their server side of things. This new version does not show menus on our TP2s so we are stuck and unable to actually setup our devices. I may play around with the cabs and see if something can be glued together to work, but I am no programming artist so we will probably have to wait until someone crafty hacks it up again to work on the TP2...

Re: HAVA 1/26/10 Update

That is just more typical HAVA BS.

I'm trying not to sound like a Slingbox "fanboy" here, but I have posted this for a year or so. When the HAVA works & you don't need CS or a software update, it is a pretty decent system & you get more features for your money with HAVA.

That being said, I would not buy another HAVA device if it was 1/3 the price of the Slingbox. Sure, it irritates me that they charge for their mobile client that should be free, but it is a much better client than the POS HAVA so what are you going to do??

I found a workaround... Download and run WVGAFIX 1.4 and set it to 640x480... then the menu's are accessible and you can add your hava and set it default. then reset your screen back to normal and you can connect to your player fine.

Landscape screen is MUCH larger in this version and works quite well. I am happy

hope this works for you

Re: HAVA 1/26/10 Update

where can I find this version of wvgafix- the one I have doesn't run on 6.5
EDIT- I was able to get hava working on my 6.5 build by copying over the settings file (in the hava program folder) from my old 6.1 build (luckily I had a backup around)

Re: HAVA 1/26/10 Update

Is anybody else's hava video quality very choppy? And sometimes the video(audio continues to play) stops for a few-10 seconds altogether. Any advice to make this stop? Is is a phone deal, or what might it be?
