Re: Why does manila take 10 minutes to play music?

OK... maybey an obvious question:

Is you music organized and tagged with arist info, album and album artwork?

If so, have you gone to WM Player and updated your library? (under the MENU tab list on the lower right side).

If I remember correctly, the HTC music tab doesn't "see" files very well or album artwork etc. until you add them to your Windows Media Player library.

The delay could be caused by the HTC player attempting to gather that info EVEY time you select a track to play.

Again though, I haven't experienced this in a long time, since I update the WMPlayer library every time I add or delete music.

Give it a shot and report back.

Good luck.

and you have the same music on it? i have a feeling you have a few tracks on there that have bad tags or just bad encoding.
The manila tab will probe the tags to check id it can populate all song info. Some cheap phones will not do this.

try to put just a single album on it and check.

Re: Why does manila take 10 minutes to play music?

I never had the problem with a manila 2.1 ROM. I have a class 6 A-Data card with 500 mp3's

Every single 2.5 ROM I have tried does it however (& I have tried most of them)

None of my music has tags, I always remove them. Plus, WMP wouldn't play them so fast if that was the problem. Its only a manila problem.

Re: Why does manila take 10 minutes to play music?

Why isn't your musid id3 tagged?

Manila scans for that info to sort your music accordingly.

There's your issue guaranteed.

Re: Why does manila take 10 minutes to play music?

I see, I think its the tagging parts slowing it down. Well that sucks. I don't tag music because sometimes when I download them off bittorrent, some people put silly writings on them, so I just delete all tags period.

Do they make a program that can automatically put tags just from reading the file name?

yeah that';s most likely ur info.

when you slide to ur music tab and in the top left u see the little spinner going before it loads up ur music. That's manila sorting your music by artist/title/song/genre, etc

it's scanning ALLLLLLLLL ur music for tags and is not finding anything.

that's my best guess. same with x
