They wouldn't care if you have Opera 9.7 installed as well. You're only installing a program...much like Skyfire, or a game you might have purchased. They'll only "care" if you unlocked your phone...AND that you're running a custom ROM on it. The phone is YOURS...they can only tell you that you're voiding any warranty or insurance. At worse...they can terminate your service...

I wouldn't worry at all...since its just a program you've installed.

I think most of the people on here mean, about the "upgrade" {can be taken to mean at least 2 things} is dont waste your upgrade "purchase power" on contract to get the touch pro 2. I agree and disagree, I bought my TP2 outright. they sell for about 330 on ebay. this way when the next gen come out in just a few months, you could buy the $700 phone for much less up front money...

I dont do it that way, but Im older and have kids I support, so waiting about 6months after the "new phones" hit the market, is the perfect time to get a newer phone, if you ask me.

You are in the same boat I was in, ALMOST (because Im an Alltel customer/plan that was bought out by verizon)... Anyway, the Touch Pro was such a POS, that the purchasing of the tp2 is absolutely an UPGRADE {this is IMHO the second meaning of that word, in context} to your situation! I would do this as soon as possible and that way you will be ready sooner, later when the new phones are out and the prices drop a little

i have to agree with our fellow ppcgeekers about you possibly holding off for a little bit more longer if you are still unsure about making the jump from tp to tp2. IMO, it's a great phone. but of course, to each is his own. if you're still a little apprehensive about making the switch, then hold off on it. you can bet sprint will have new phones by the end of summer this year, maybe then you'll have at least a couple of phones to pick from.
