Re: Battery draining, dont know why?

If you don't know the terms 'ROM' or 'Hard Reset', a good place to start learning is this thread: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=91619

Re: Battery draining, dont know why?

Chances are you since you seem to be running a stock rom, something you installed keeps running non-stop and killing your battery. I'd start by uninstalling everything you can live without. If that doesn't help, do a clear memory, (be aware that will totally erase your phone and it will be just like it was when it was new. You will lose all your data if it isn't backed up somewhere.)

If the battery usage gets better, add things back one by one until the problems come back.

Re: Battery draining, dont know why?

:Attention:
Can everybody post your battery life and area where you live please.
Everybody keeps saying "mines is fine" or "mines is not" but not saying where they are located. Someone who is located in the country will probably get poorer battery life than someone who is located in the city with plenty of cell phone towers.

Re: Battery draining, dont know why?

I've used a task manager's CPU usage display to troubleshoot battery issues. Found a program using constant 10-20% CPU, got rid of it, and then my battery was fine.

That sounds broken. Hard Reset and don't do ANYTHING to it, does it still do that?

I have a custom ROM. Took it off charger this morning at 8AM. 8PM tonight still at 100% !! With bluetooth on and weather updated every 2 hours. I only had one short call today.

Install a battery monitor and start killing processes until you find culprit.

It should draw about 50ma with screen on at idle (30% brightness) and 20ma when device is asleep.

Wow that is pretty good. I have the Sprint ROM and that takes me 1.5 days w/o a charge.

Can you recommend me a good battery monitor which also keeps a record when the unit is sitting idle. I installed battery monitor, but it only gives me a point and time when you click on it.

Thanks
