you are wrong. one of the top 10 apps for the nexus is the wifi tethering app. that being one of the top 10 apps out of 20,000+ apps, the average consumer is stepping their wifi game up. mobile tethering is a big deal now.

What's the answer? Dual boot! I think WM will try a Zune Phone that might be somewhat popular but none of us would be interested and it will eventually vanish. I'd just like to a device like HD2 that could dual boot android and WM that way I can choose what I want to run. I don't see myself buying an android device anytime soon.

Funny you state that. Last week, my girlfriend got a BB 8530. I actually think it looks quite nice, and works quite well. No EVDO on Sprint like my TP2, but... i'm sure the Tour 2 will be out soon, so who cares. Anyway, I was playing with her phone and mentioned tethering, and she goes.... HUH? I said you can connect your phone to your computer to browse the web. I tested out that program WMWifirouter and got it to work on my laptop and was browsing pretty nicely. I was like WOO HOO. Totally didn't even think about that option, and found it very nice. Even looked at my bill, and nothing changed. Only on for a few minutes, but it was fine.

Anyway, my girl still said...HUH.

I said let me put it in NON GEEK terms. You can use the data on your phone to get the internet on your computer when.... AND IT WENT OVER HER HEAD. ](*,)

Anyway, I gave up, and the important thing was I knew what it was. She was also like... Dont you touch my phone cause you always seem to mess yours up changing and installing all sorts of stuff.

Only happened once when I installed that SRSWOW deal and it totally screwed the phone. I fixed it. But she never wants me to touch her phone.

I look at crackberry and all the cool stuff, and tell her she needs to get X app and try this and that, and she says... I LIKE MY PHONE THE WAY IT IS.

She plans on doing absolutely nothing with it but the normal txt, and surfing the web. BLOG WHAT? TWITTER WHAT? RSS WHAT? Yeah, not her. Probably e-mail and berry messenger and facebook, but that's about it.

If you work at a Best Buy and love all this stuff and have a girl with no idea, you know what I go through. :D

But you readily do it everyday @ work or home on your PC or its has to be done everytime you have to reset your network or security/update patches made your PC.

I will simply like to state that Touch Pro2 is an awesome device on a garbage, outdated Os!

Simple naive analysis.

My Mom & Brother in Law are avg customers.
They don't do mobile tethering.
They find a wifi hot spot with their netbooks.

That said, I am a gear head & I don't mobile tether either. I recognize it's for ppl who want to diversify their broadband options on the go.

Not discounting its rise or potential. But not saying 95% of the general public knows or use it also.
Case in point the>> drrohit81.
Of course that is a below avg example but you get the point.

I don't know how much weight a prediction like this carries but maybe this will help at least show WM is not going to "vanish."

See here... Windows mobile predicted to grow faster than blackberry and Palm. Will still have more marketshare than Iphone.

Re: Is Windows Mobile Vanishing?

You guys all talk marketshare as it relates to the Smartphone market and how poorly MS is doing, as well as not appreciating the value of enterprise (business) sales. Windows Mobile was around long before it was used on phones, and still is...big time. A very large percentage of the devices that you see couriers, route sales, and the likes using are Windows Mobile. Not to mention almost all of the Telzon type guns you see people using in all the bigbox stores on a daily basis, that run with WiFi instead of cellular networks. There are millions of these devices in use, and those numbers do not show up. MS is far from dead. It has an extremely large and solid base. You and I just don't see the biggest portion of their business. Throw in Windows CE, the core OS for Windows Mobile, it is everywhere. It is most cars today. It is used in everything from toasters to gas pumps. Consumer sales have never been huge for them, however it does look like they are going to pay much more attention to in the future.

@Paragon... And the wireless Telzons also have touch screens. :D at least the ones i've used before. It's like a mini windows on a gun with a laser. LMAO
