sending international sms

i have tp2 with sprint. i have tried many ways to send sms to russia. i keep getting charged for them, but none of them get to the other person. is there any way to fix that or to download some good software to use for international sms? i tried skype, but doesnt work.

try sms to email (emailing the email address for their sms)?
