Re: Gmail Sync Email Lag?
It didn't just happen today. It's been happening for awhile now and it's starting to really annoy me. It's also not like I'm not on 3G either. That's why I posted and wondered if anyone else has my problem

Re: Gmail Sync Email Lag?
if youre not using microsoft exchange on your phone for work google syncs with exchange. just set it up on your phone. go to activesync configure server and set it u0p from there. set the server address as m.google.com. change your settings to as item arrive and you get instant notification.

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.7 (WindowsMobile; PPC; Opera Mobi/35541; U; en; Presto/2.1.1))
i am also having issues with activesync and google. it is not consistent but prompted me to setup the same account for imap that checks mail every hour 'just in case'.. i saw a connection state checker in another thread that purports to help out which I will be trying soon. |

Re: Gmail Sync Email Lag?
yeah it looks like im still not getting instant push on the gmail through outlook, the imap gmail account gets its email at 5 mins intevral which is almost all times faster than outlook. also outlook gmail doesn't seem to give me an option on the interval to check for new email.

Re: Gmail Sync Email Lag?
When I had this issue I believe it was because I had to enable the push mail so that it's working during non-peak times as well. There was some option like "only during peak times" which was set by default. Of course if you're not getting the push email to work during the day(peak time) it must be something else, but if you're noticing this at night that could be the reason.

Re: Gmail Sync Email Lag?
Gmail sync has had intermittent problems since the end of last year. There are a bunch of threads open on google's help forums. It seems to come and go inconsistently, and for the most part Google is saying that its technically still in beta, so deal with it. I had very bad lag issues in December (delivery anywhere from 1 - 6 hours behind) but mine is currently working good. As a matter of fact the emails on my TP2 have timestamps that are often earlier than in my gmail inbox.
Its a free service so considering the fact that most ISP's don't even allow IMAP connections, I'll deal with some lag now and then. You can always set up IMAP in addition to gmail sync and just activate it when you need to... |
