Change Left Soft Key to Lock??
 

How do you change the registry to make the left soft key into a lock button??
What do I type for the argument and Path?

i used to do that but i flash so much it got old lol,now i use an app that makes the wm 6.5 lock much like s2u2,hit the sleep button and bam :thumbleft:

I am running Windows 6.1 on a sprint phone. The phone is stock , all I have is Total Commander where Ive been messing with the registry.

The path for the lock screen would be windows/devicelock.exe.
In the registry, HKLM/software/htc/manilla/lsk path

there is a lock cab in mightys 2.1 rom thread...although the rom is 6.5 i used he cab on manila 2.1 and it adds the lock key to the left softkey

I just tried this again to verify and it does work, and has worked every time. What happens when you click the left soft key after you make the change?

When I click it, it flashes for a second and thats it. Is there something to put in the LSK Argument as well? The only thing which worked is changing the text. Am I supposed to use quotes or anything?

I also looked for Devicelock.exe in the registry and couldn't find it. Maybe thats why it doesnt work???

What would I put if I wanted to put it back to the Camera?

Devicelock.exe is not located in the registry, you will find it in the windows folder, and you wont be able to see it unless you have your file explore set to see system files and hidden files. I use Resco explorer and it works fine. To see it in resco, go to menu, options, general,browser, uncheck the four options to hide files except hide file extentions box. Then hit the binoculars to search for devicelock and it should find it in the windows directory.
I have attatched Resco and the registry add-0n. Give it a shot.
Your HomeLSKArguments should be blank.

Then go here:

1-HKLM\software\HTC\Manilla\HomeLSKPath
And put the following as the path:
2-windows\Devicelock.exe
And whatever text you want in HomeLSKText.

* For the camera, it should be Windows\camera.exe

You guys just need to enter \Windows\SOFTWARE\HTC\Manila

For the right String to work you have to enter \Windows\DeviceLock.exe in the HomeLSKPath

My Left Soft key isnt working at all. Whatever path I put, the screen flashes for one sec and nothing happens. I dont know, nothing is working, only the text works to change the name.
