Doesn't ActivSync only charges USB

could someone help me my active sync isn't working and i wanna take my phone to the sprint store but i cannot because off the damn thing wont even load roms from the bootloadter screen

do you need active sync working because you want to back up your contacts? if thats the only reason, download myphone and back your phone up that way. Then take it to the sprint store. if you have a custom rom on there, trust me, sprint reps could care less about that.

what OS are you running on your computer? Are you trying to connect via activesync or Mobile device center?
In Vista/Win7 via Mobile device center: Open Mobile device center and then in Mobile device settings, select connection settings, uncheck the box which says "allow data connections on device when connected to PC"
Another thing to check, is when you plug in your usb cable to your phone, when the pop-up comes up is there a box under the active sync option? If there is, uncheck this box also. (You can also adjust this setting in Settings/Connections/Usb to PC)

Try going to Start>Settings>Connections>USBtoPC and make sure "ActiveSync" is checked and try unchecking "enable faster data synchronization."

I have windoes xp sp3.. and activ sync 4.5.. about 2 days ago it was working so.. I don't know mates. I think i'll have to take it the sprint store.. i might give up on TP2 and role with the HERO

Don't know what ROM you're using, but on your device get to Settings (possibly All Settings), Connections, USB to PC....is ActiveSync selected?
Does ActiveSync even launch when you plug in the TP2?
- If not, do you even hear the normal ActiveSync "device connected" sound?
- If ActiveSync does launch, do you get an error?
In ActiveSync have you tried first unchecking "File | Connection Settings | Allow USB Connections" and then going back in and rechecking it?
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling ActiveSync?

Hi!
I dont know if this relates but sometimes(5out of 10 times) when i connect my tp2 to my pc (windows 7) the active sync doesn't start on its own.. and when i double click on"windows mobile device cent re" it opens up but DOES NOT SHOW as my TP2 as "connected". though my TP2 is getting charged for SURE as i can see the RED light On on my TP2/
I find this weird.. but just neglecting it..
Any solution will be deeply appreciated!

all these settings wont help you bro i had the same problem.if your phone doesnt even come up as a driver its the same thing and its a hardware problem.i coudlnt relock mine seems im seeing more and more of these active sync usb problems....should come up with a way to relock phone through sd card.

Well im back on sprint rom.. Ive uninstalled activesync also.. Active sync doesn't launch at all

I'll try to get back with you when i get in the house
