6.1 Taskbar seems OK with 6.5 - should I worry?

I've looked at several 6.5 specific custom taskbars, and none seem to be to my liking. They all have icons that look great on a computer screen, but on my phone they become something that makes me wonder "does that blue blob with a silver center mean am I on speakerphone or that I'm getting charged a billion dollars a minute because I'm roaming?"

I'm using instead a 6.1 taskbar, "Spikes MicNeo Taskbar Varient 3 v2" with MightyMike's CDMA fix. The icons are clear and obvious (IMHO)

Because it's a 6.1 taskbar I don't get the Spinning Marbles or a "prettied-up" OK and X button, but that's fine by me.

I'm just concerned because I've read that 6.1 taskbars are supposed to be incompatible with 6.5

Should I worry? Or does the proper response to this question have to do with "looking gift horses in the mouth"
