i just found this over at xda-dev, awesome deal and it wokred like a charm! just unzip the file into your windows base directory and soft reset, your done!

are u using it on a specific rom? ex. mighty rom? . its because i just set everything up perfectly and dont want to have to hard reset.

wow.... now that i examine the files, its really simple..... who would of thought. we should be seeing some rpetty cool mods pretty soon, heck ill even give it a shock tomorrow when im at work . ill try to make me a black gloss theme. this is just simple css folks.

From the site it says wm6.5 and 6.1 so it should work for either or. It won't work with sense 2.5 though unless you disable HTC messaging so you go back to standard SMS.

You don't have your system backed up??

I don't fear a hard reset at all. If I install something like this & it messes my system up, I simply hard reset & then restore the SPB Backup file I made just previous to installing the new app (I ALWAYS make a new BU just prior to installing ANY new app)

This procedure very quickly puts the system right back to exactly where it was before the screw-up.

I installed the cabs from the XDA site for windows mobile 6.5 and this worked perfectly.

Nice find.

Running MightyRom 6.5 Sense 2.1 2010.1.10. Runs beautifully. Here's a screenshot using the 6.5 cab in post #15

Did you have to disable HTC Messaging or did you just simply install the cab?

Just installed it. I installed to the device just to be sure. You still might want to back it up just in case.

EDIT: Wait, misread your question. HTC Messaging is disabled. Then I installed it. I forget if my Mighty ROM 2010.1.10 already had it disabled, but I think I disabled it myself.

OK Guys,

I'm running an SSK rom (6.5 build 21872) which has Arcsoft built in.

I tried installing the 6.5 cab from post #15, and nothing changed. How do I get WM Messaging to run instead of Arcsoft?

Looking at the dates, it looks like the relevant files in the windows directory changed. I did reboot after installing the cab.

you can try this cab, it's supposed to disable the htc messaging and use the standard windows sms. Didn't create the cab...I'm on manila 2.1

If the first cab doesn't work try the second one OrigDefault

OK, thanks given to nuuuuts.

I had already tried that first cab - didn't work for me. The second cab does work, however. Here's what to do:

Install the second cab from nuuuuts' post to device. Do not restart when prompted.

Install the 6.5 cab from post #15 to device.

Restart.

Looks cool.

Erm, it's not a program. The cab files here are just edited CSS files and maybe new images. At least, I think, since that's all the original author wrote over at XDA.

For those that don't know, CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets -- the same file type used to style nearly every website on the internet.





And to that, I gotta say, I'm freaking stoked.. I love me some CSS. :headbang:
I guarntee I'll be taking a deeper look at this and seeing if I can help the community with some SMS variety.

After I installed this (bubble SMS) using Malrom (Jan 3) my picture mail no longer works. I can get texts fine but pic mail is a no go. Any suggestions?

this is so much nicer looking lol ... close to iphone sms look ... which should be pretty easy for someone to mod more with decent css skills to look exact and/or better ... i just installed the post #15 cab and didn't disable htc messaging so i'll only see the view when i go to all messages ... basically how it is on m2.1 roms now. my only dislike is the font is a little too big for my liking but easy fix to css. also ... the images def seem to lag the loading and operation of sms viewing.

This needs a purple version. And it needs to not mess up my messaging count, grr.

i dont notice any mess up of messaging count on mine? and dont see how it would as this fix only affects the stylesheet display.
and purple is easy .. extract the image file, photoshop to purple, put back in cab, and done.

your not not. you lazy. its not hard to extract the files to a temp folder, move them to another temp folder and then copy them to the windows directory. that was sooo hard to do.
