and what about class? I recall reading on HTC's website that the TP2 card reader's max is 2MB/s (from card to phone)

It seems like no one knows for sure.

I've read 16GB is the maximum and I've also read 32GB is the maximum.

I didn't see anything listed on HTC's web site.

It's 32GB. If you search, you'll find someone who physically modded the TP2 to accept regular SD cards, and they installed a 32GB one

Are we talking theory or fact or theory made into fact by modding? As far as I know Touchpro2 handles 16GB cards. As far as class I really dont know. To answer the OP yes a 16GB card is enough to hold tons of music, apps, games, and few movies. On mine I have 300 songs, 10 apps, 40 or more games ,and 3 full movies. I have use about 7GB of space with 9GB more to go. I hope this was enough info to solve your question. Anymore questions just PM me.

Re: How large of a Micro SD card will the TP2 handle?

well samsung is releasing 32gb microsdhc next month, or so the ppcgeeks front page says..It should support 32gb as it states it is sd 2.0 complaint, if it did not support it, it would not be complaint. There really is no difference between a 16gb or a 32gb other the how they pack the data.

The difference between SD 1.0 and SD 2.0 is 1 extra parameter which makes it incompatible on some devices. SD 3.0 for example has that same parameter but now it accepts multiple values.

The only possible way it would not accept more would be a filesystem thing which is not the case as it already supports 16gb.

Lastly for the speed...its definitely better then 2mb/sec as people have reported class 2 cards loading slowly while class 4 and class 6 worked fine. So I cannot say it can take full advantage of Class 6, but its definitely better then Class 2.

Thanks guys, I was planning on using my phone as a audio/video player so I don't have to carry an Ipod around with me... Do you guys know if I need to invest in a Class 6 for video or will a Class 2 work just fine. Also what video player are you guys using for the TPS?

Thanks
Nick

The Transcend 16GB Class 6 MicroSD card is what I use and it is the fastest card that I've seen for the price. Then again I haven't looked real recently. If you can find a higher class rating for a good price, go for it.

Transcend 16GB Class 6 MicroSD for $79 on newegg.com

Anyone have a cheaper source or recommend another card?

Via an earlier post here on ppcg, I picked up a Ridata 16gb class-6 for right @ $50/shipped to my door in 3 days...lovin' it so far.
