Re: TP2 Not recognized by PCs

got a new phone today, not a refurb. had the tech try and sync. at first pc didnt recognize the phone. came up as generic serial. he deleted and reinstalled activesync and it worked just fine.

i am synced with my work pc right now with a fresh install of activesync and its working just fine.

Ok, I fought this thing yesterday and this may sound strange but it fixed it. I was syncing my Outlook notes and for some strange reason it would never complete the syncing. Then it PC wasn't even recognizing the phone. I unistalled Windows Mobile Device and did a wipe on the phone changed the USB cable to use a different connection on my PC (used the front USB) and then it recognized my phone. BUT I didn't choose to sync my notes and I have not had a problem since. Like I said it was strange but I am not complaining I will just export my notes to Excel and have them sync that way.

Late to the thread, but my USCC TP2 is now failing to sync through ActiveSync, Tried with 2 computers. I uninstalled, reinstalled, deleted relationships, tried different ports and different cables. Checked and unchedked boxes, soft-rebooted and PC rebooted. Nothing worked for either computer.

I guess it's time to see if USCC will fix it....

Re: TP2 Not recognized by PCs

The key here is OP said it's not connecting at all ... without the device, uninstalling/configuring Activesync isn't going to matter.

For the record I had this exact same thing happen on two different TP2's ...
... One just stopped connecting after over a year of use, I guess the USB port eventually deteriorates
... Other was brand new phone that never connected to a PC before, I guess there were some bad batches out

Had TEP on both, both replaced @ Sprint store without any problems.
