Nice job OP! nice little change to the homescreen.
is it possible to make this change for manila 2.5 too? if so, a cab would be helpful to many of us. a clean cab for 2.1 couldnt hurt either.. i think the one posted has some issues, correct?

It sounds like it does have some issues. It could be the location in the file of where the edit needs to be made. I would do it manually if you are concerned. And of course, a full backup beforehand with something like SPB Backup would be wise, especially using the cab. It only takes a few minutes manually, maybe 5 or 10 minutes at most for a first timer at it.

My system has been showing the day of the week all along & I didn't specifically change anything to get it like that.

I am running the NRG Dusk theme ROM (Dec 17th) & it must be either the ROM itself or the theme setting it up this way.....

Nice find. I modified mine as dddd - MMM d, yyyy which shows up today as Friday - Jan 8, 2010.

I did this on MM 1/4 release.

I think a general cab won't work for a lot of people because if someone has a mod to their homescreen and uses the cab it will screw up their mod. Or like that cab I tried to make it screwed up unmodded home screens because whatever mods I had had already edited that manila file. So manual editing of the manila file is safest.
