Re: Bad camera photos

I understand it is frustrating to have such an expensive and a camera that blows. I have found the plastic lens on the back cover does degrade the image, however I would not remove it. In comparison to my Touch Pro I think the still images are far worse on the Touch Pro 2 but it appears the video capabilities of the Touch Pro 2 are far better then the Touch Pro. Since more often then not the image quality of the video on the Touch Pro 2 is better then stills, I believe that it is just bad software running the still camera mode. Ultimately though, I like the Touch Pro 2 best for what it true purpose it, communicating. My Touch Pro, girlfriends Iphone, and other phones that have better camera just lag in others area. One example would be the keyboard on the Touch Pro BLEW donkey balls so bad. My solution is just to keep a Nikon S210, which is a cheap point-n-shoot in my car for any time I want to take decent photos, such as pics on the beach, camping, ect. I use the phones camera only as a last resort. If I really need image quality I bring the big guns aka the Nikon D80 and 17-55m f/2.8.

...just my 2 cents...

The lens on this phone is smaller than a dime, when as one on a point and shoot is the size of a half dollar...can you see where Im going? That picture isnt that bad for the low light you took it in. Also if you have photoshop or some editing program that may help by fixing up the picture a bit.

I'll say this for the hundredth time, just because its not a point and shoot doesnt meant it cant take good pics. They simply put in a low quality camera in there, I took this pic with a HTC diamond which has a 3 meg camera and look at the difference:

One idea which works quite well is removing the plastic lens from the back of the battery cover.
Some of these fixes people find just don't make any sense. Take the plastic lens off the back cover....dude stuff like that is just asking for damage to the lens and crap getting into the battery area of the phone. having no lens there is asking for water or lint to get in the phone. Same thing with drilling of the hole in the side to access the soft reset button...come on guys...there nice ideas...but they add to the risk of your phone getting damaged...(Water) Those are two ideas that people seem to think will solve issues, but in the long run they may come to bite you in butt because you altered the phones original design.

A finger swipe of the lens or having a micro fiber cloth near you will get rid of the smudge and you then can go back to taking pictures, lack luster they are without damaging the phone.
Why would it matter to you what others do to their phone? You make no sense. My phone has vents in the back already so it would be prone to water damage without any modification.

Re: Bad camera photos

I have seen some GOOD photos from the TP2 and I would like to know how they are getting them.... I am getting BETTER photos by changing settings on my phone before I take shots...

Re: Bad camera photos

HTC just slacked and put in a crappy camera. No other way to describe it. If that weren't true then we would at least have a flash. Not that having a flash automatically means the camera is good. But if they didn't even bother to put a flash on the device, then you know they went bottom of the barrel on anything related to the camera.

I'm getting sick of HTC's antics, personally. Take a look at this comparison:
http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdacomp...=1966&id3=2011

Where does HTC get off thinking they have a better product? They must really think the general public is a bunch of idiots or something.

Re: Bad camera photos

Just like with the TILT 1 , I find that the lense cover is crappy , I know its a pain , but just like on my T1 if you remove the battery cover when taking a photo ,its 100 times better.

Water damage will damage the phone regardless unless you have it in a zip lock at all times. The phone is not water proof. First you got holes for the mic, then you have holes for the speaker, in addition to everything else not having any seal around it. In regards to reset hole...the TP1 had one. If you are careful with your phone which I know in this forum most are, then I don't see the big deal in removing the lens and drilling a hole. I myself have 2 back covers. One with the lens removed and a reset hole and another without. The ones without the lens cover allows for a slightly clearer picture.

In regards to the camera itself, I agree it isn't as great as the TP1 but it's way better than what the mogul was.

Re: Bad camera photos

I know the camera module is removable so wonder if it can be swapped with an Imagio or Leo, assuming they too have the same type. Then adjust the registry to compensate for it.
