Need help Understanding something about my new new TP2
 

I just typed in ##778#

and here are my questions:

1. What does life counter mean?? It says 3 on mine.

2. I just bought the phone 2 days ago and it says the manufacturer's date is 11/30. What is yours?

3. What software version and firmware version do you have??
I have 1.21.651.3, 1.96.00WF

4. What TFLO3d do you have??
2.1.38416.1

Here are the things i have found.. I am not sure they are issues.

1. My screen dims in and out... is this normal??
2. Volume seems to get louder from the first time i click the button.. like i am dialing and the first number i push is soft and then from then on it gets louder.. is this normal??
3. When i am using the stylus it feels like the plastic film moves down and touches the glass.. is this normal??
4. The volume when i call seems soft... is this normal??
5. What is or was the first thing i should do when i got this phone and how do i do it??

Your screen dimming is probably the light sensor auto adjusting the backlight there is a setting for that

Start -> Settings -> All Settings -> Power -> Backlight

As for the screen pressing down, you have a resistive touch screen on the TP2 so the 2 layers actually make contact to register the touch.

yes, that's normal. can't really tell you why they incorporate that feature, but it's been there on every tp2 i've seen/used

thank u sir, yea i have the stock rom so maybe that is why i am 2.1.

some guys just said the volume issue was typical on all phones...

so when you dial a number, doesnt your first number you dial is soft and then it gets louder??>??

i sim unlocked my radio, i was just messing with you! i don't have my phone close by, it was manufactured sometime in july.

To be honost, my phone is on vibrate 90% of the time, so I may just not notice it

my tp2 does the same thing (get louder when dialing) it annoyed me at first..still does actually. i got it on dec 7 with a manufacture date of 11/27/09

I turned off the noise when dialing (doing so doesn't affect using it for bank access or anything else needing DTMF, it just affects whether you hear it or not). However, on almost any noise this phone can make, it has that "ramp up" of the volume. More than a little annoying, because it can cause you to miss short notifications, etc., which are so short that they are over before the volume ramps up.
