But if you do the tmobile coverage map and it says you get good service throught your whole city there is no reason not to try them out. I was with sprint for 10 years and i even worked for them, i now have my tmobile nexus and that myth about sprints evdo reva being faster then 3g is definitely a myth. I haven't had 1 dropped call yet and i've driven up and down the coast 3 times in the last week. But i'm not here to change people, everyone eventually will find out in the end. i just found out sooner rather then later sprint is not the business, they don't get the hottest phones and even when they do gsm already has them. tmobile has android 2.1 on nexus, mytouch, and behold 2, sprint doesn't even have 2.1 at this time. tmobile has 6.5 on touch pro 2, sprint doesnt even have 6.5 out. the samsung intrepid 3.0 inch screen isn't my definition of 6.5. I have my sprint tp2 chillin in my glove compartment just incase but i haven't had a need for it. Sprint is about to be the low end of the 4 popular companies and the high end of the companies like metro.
you are a funny man p-slim, i won't be going to t-mobile anytime soon. The HD2 is nice but not that nice. You say that your not trying to change people minds but thats exactly what your trying to do. And by the way i had a little internet speed test with my friend who has a iPhone 3GS. I used skyfire and he used Safari. My phone loaded the entire webpage before his phone loaded the mobile version. I also used Opera which wasn't as fast but still faster then his iPhone. I will stick with sprint for the time being. To much new technology coming out for me to make any changes right now. And i can't speak for everyone but i'm not scared of change, i have actually played with all the phones out. I just don't think making the change is worth it in my opininon. They make look a little prettier at doing certain things, but my touch pro 2 just kills them in functionality. My friend was going crazy just because he jailbroke his iphone and was able to change the background lol. He was excited that he could listen to pandora and browse the web, are u serious lol. They get excited over things i have been doing for years. Windows mobile got it so right the first time they got lazy and didn't make it pretty. Now they already have all the functionality, just make it pretty and more consumer friendly and the rest will bite the dust. ex.Windows Phone 7. You will be back real soon Slim i gurantee it

i know winmo is the truth i've already said i will be back, but until winmo 7 comes out i will stick with tmobile and android 2.1. how soon before you think "Sprint" will have winmo7, i'm guessing 2011. they might get it sooner with lg but i definitely will not buy a 1st generation lg from sprint. tmobile will have winmo 7 on an htc device long before sprint and when winmo 7 is up I will get a winmo 7 phone. No way i'm going a whole year with the tp2. if you think your winmo phone is better then the nexus then one day you will open your eyes. we are all waiting for winmo 7 because winmo 6 sucks, thats the bottom line. if you think its only apps then your insane. everything on android is better then winmo 6.anything. I gurantee you if you gave a nexus to everyone in the tp2 forum and let them keep their tp2s, over 50% of the users would stop using their tp2s, and if you gave the nexus forums a tp2, im positive most users would never use their tp2s.

also i didn't leave i still have my tp2 on my sero plan, i just don't use it. Also have you been listening to pandora, definitely not on the tp2, or if so below sub par audio and the screen positioning, lets not even go there.

Re: Who plans to go HD2?

I dont get why people keep saying the tp2 kills newer phones in functionality.. what exactly are these functions we're speaking of? It definitely cant be speed or screen response. Definitely cant be loading or using apps without crashes.. and I wont even mention games. So what exactly are we speaking of here? And keep in mind I do have a tp2 but im just curious. I mean I like my tp2 dont get me wrong but when I use newer phones and then go back to it it just seems sooooooooooooo slow and unresponsive. I dont use microsoft office and rarely use the qwerty so I just cant see it. Is it multi tasking? What am I missing?

Slingbox, great keyboard, no blocking apps by some app nazi, multitasking, no need for 3rd party software to connect it to a computer, can easily function as flash drive on any computer, Can easily pop the MicroSD into any phone or computer and have all of your data there, can tilt the screen up and sit it on a desk so you can see it better when you watch videos or surf the net...

Come on man, you bought one so you obviously know what it does. Don't try to act like it's just a piece of junk just because you went out and got yourself an iPhone.

-how long do you think you will be able to say slingbox, even iphone slingbox is better
-great keyboard but onscreen keyboard is faster
-android has multitasking, programs actually open up faster then they do on the tp2
-nexus and hero both have flash drive and removable memory. as soon as you plug to computer, even easier then the tp2 because it has the option to mount and dismount
-the tilt feature comes from the actual phone, not the os.

these are the only features you can name that are better, and none of them except the slingbox is an actual advantage. the advantages of android over 6.5 this list would never end. its like you said i bought both i know exactly what the tp2 does compared to the nexus or motorola droid.

1: The iPhone slingbox is NOT better, lol. The Slingbox on the Touch Pro 2 works over 3G, the iPhone's is WiFi only. Other than that, the one on the Touch Pro 2 looks exactly like the one on the iPhone. So it's a PERFECT example of the iPhone being all fluff, while the Touch Pro 2 has functionality (even though they look the exact same so the Touch pro 2 sling player has the fluff too).
2: Man you keep saying this and that about Android being faster and I wasn't going to get into it, but on all the videos I have seen comparing the 2- yes, the Nexus One was faster, but the page looked better on the WinMo device. Speed isn't always everything. And talking abou tspeed- run that same speed test on a G1 and compare it to a Touch Pro 2. Of course it's faster when the hardware is like 2 generations newer.
3: So the Hero has a flash drive option- big whoop. Does that mean the Touch Pro 2 doesn't or something? Just because the Hero does it too doesn't mean the Touch Pro 2 is less functional. Show me the keyboard on either of them. Show me the sling player.
4: Yes, the tilt feature comes form the actual phone, no tthe OS. The speed you are talking about also comes from the actual phone, not the OS. Again, show me an HD2 speed test up against a T-Mobile G1.
5: Onscreen keyboard is NOT faster, lol. Maybe for you, but most definitely not for me. I can type on the keyboard without even looking. And I can also type on the keyboard without some virtual keyboard taking up half my screen. So when I type up a Word Doc (another function of the Toch Pro 2) I can get busy with it.
6: You are comparing the latest and greatest Android hardware to last generation WinMo hardware. Not a fair comparison at all. Again, sit an HD2 next to a T-Mobile G1 and then tell me which one is faster. You think the OS is all there is to it, but that is certainly not the case.

Is there going to be a CDMA version of this phone?
Or is the best we Sprint users got the HTC Supersonic....

Saltydawg you are delusional for even comparing winmo to android, EVERYONE in the world knows winmo 6.5 needs a major overhaul. any comparison i make is nexus vs. hd2 which is why i keep ignoring the keyboard feature. When doing a comparison i don't even know whether to compare vs 6.5 or sense 2.5 thats the only thing even worth of comparison. to be honest the droid is a better everyday phone then the tp2. emails, web browsing, phone integration with everything like your, google voice, google maps, youtube (i don't even want to get into facebook or apps which simplify your life so much, which of course winmo 7 will be integrating), and so much more. someone sends me a youtube link through email or text, winmo won't know where to open that link, android will ask "open in youtube player or webbrowser" thats just a simple example but the phone makes everything easier. All the customizations you run on your phone are only to make your tp2 run as easily as a droid. Besides slingbox, you still havent given me 1 thing winmo has better. I promise if you had an hd2 and a supersonic, after 1 week you would use your supersonic more readily, i'm 100% positive.

These people just don't get it. DUDE above said we couldn't multitask or we need software on our phones to hook it to a PC or we can't just put a SD card in our phones or another, thaats just crazy talk. That's just ignorant... I made a video of my tp2 vs the nexus on Pandora and its a joke how much better androids is... Ill post a link soon.....

http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=jAzYX...ient=mv-google
excuse the vulgarness...LOL. this is just one example. Day to day usage and apps, winmo/tp2 just cannot compete with android/nexus/Droid/any android phone.

This ones the Facebook app. Look how crappy it is on the tp2. Can't even switch next pic... now these bids are both on wifi. The phones that is..
http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=VxST3...ient=mv-google

WINMO needs a change. AND untill that happens count me out. Still I don't see these funcionalities everyone speaks of winmo being able to do more. I bet by the time you open up a browser on the tp2 I'd already have the page loaded on my nexus....

And I never once have used word or excel or any of that and I bet (most) people with a tp2 have either.......

I never thought I would be able to type faster on screen than a hardware keyboard but its true.
