Wrong. No GSM carrier has a 3.5 mm jack, and every CDMA carrier has a 3.5 mm jack. Why is that? Because HTC made the GSM version first, and after they made it they announced that all future HTC devices would have a 3.5 mm jack. The CDMA device came later, so it had one.

wrong. second generation gsm models do have a 3.5 mm headphone jack...

No they don't. The newest GSM version is the AT&T Tilt 2, and it does not have a 3.5 mm jack...

as salty stated, sprint didn't want the headphone jack, htc wanted to start putting 3.5 so thats why it was implemented. Sprint had no say in that whatsoever.

Salty is correct, the att gsm model has no 3.5mm and thats the newest tp2 besides usc.

I dont hate anything about the touch pro. Ive had the 6700, mogul, touch pro, etc and this phone has the best of all of them.

Are we sure that all the Euro models have been released already? There was a report not long ago hinting that not all GSM models would be without the headphone jack.

Notice that "report" is from before any carriers had launched it. We now know that the Australian model they were speculating abouyt does not have a 3.5 mm jack. And everyone else has already launched the device too. T-Mobile hadn't even launched it yet when that "report" was made. But now everyone has launched it.

CDMA has the jack, GSM does not. The reason is because the GSM device was made before HTC decided to put 3.5mm jacks on all future devices.

Why are we even discussing this? Does having attachments vs the jack mean all that much difference? If I really listened to music on something aside from my Stiletto 2, I'd just have an adapter wherever I needed it. Although, I hate earbuds as well, so I'd have to have big fat padded earphones everywhere too!

You know what... Nothing comes to mind. Coming from a Mogul (holy underpowered with no ram batman) to a Touch Pro (Inferno Edition - It charred the back cover it got so hot) this phone is perfect. It works and does everything it needs to and using custom roms with replaceable interfaces makes it much better.
