No Smartlock-not really familiar with that. Thanks for the thought though.

Re: Backlight Timing Settings Not Sticking!
Does anybody have any ideas? This is really a problem.
I've uninstalled the Proxy CAB, but no improvement. That Registry key keeps getting reset to "7" if I use the "Lock" and turn it off. The value will be set to "60" before I turn it off, but if I engage the Lock, turn it off (put it to sleep, that is, not turning the device off), and then turn if back on, that key has been reset to "7". This is the regular Verizon Lock that comes standard with the phone, not any 3rd party one. What could be causing this? How can I get this registry key to "stick"?? |
Re: Backlight Timing Settings Not Sticking!
Looks like I'm talking mostly to myself, but for what it's worth, I seem to have fixed the problem. I found a post on the xda forums with a similar problem, which led me to a Registry fix:
HKCU..Control Panel...Backlight...LockLevel...LockLevel - changed this value from 1 to 0, and now things seem to function normally. I still have no idea what triggered this change in the first place, but at least I can now control the behavior of the backlight correctly. |

DLCPhoto -
Many, many thanks for this research and ultimately, a solution. Since Oct '09, I have been attempting to solve this extremely annoying problem. I was amazed a lot more people hadn't complained, as I had this problem out of the box. This was so annoying I started looking for a new phone, and particularly, a non-HTC phone, as HTC was no help. Again, a tremendous thank you and :occasion5: gbd |
