How do I make registry edits?

Happy holidays to all!
Just got a Sprint TP2 and would like to make the registry edits to increase ear speaker and ringer volume. (Combat vet here, with 25% hearing loss).
My TP2 is all stock as it came from Sprint, I did manage to download Resco
Registry Editor to my TP2, but don't know what to do next, I have been searching this forums for the last 4 days trying to find a tutorial to help me make this registry changes.
Could someone help this old U.S. Marine by either explaining what to do or
direct me to a thread where this procedure is shown?

PS: I already know what reg keys i need to tweak, I just don't know how to get to them.
