Bluetooth & USB Tethering Prob. (no internet cxn)?
 

Hi all - so I've read through most of the tethering threads and haven't seen my issue...I have the usb tethering fix cabs installed and I can tether by USB or by bluetooth PAN w/o any issues i.e. it connects fine, I don't get the 67 error, etc. Except that I don't get internet with either method, my computer just shows an active network connection without internet access. I'm running win 7 (32) if it makes a difference...don't have any xp computers around to try it with so don't know where the issue is. Wifi works fine though.

I've tried changing around my usb tethering method (like connecting usb first via "storage" and then enabling data and ICS, etc.) and it hasn't made a difference. I can connect fine, just no internet. What am I missing? Should I uninstall the tethering cabs and do the registry fixes manually?

tried many methods in the forum, reg hacks, cab files... but the only way I can tether with tp2 is with custom rom, I use mighty's

How are you getting Bluetooth PAN to work? I can't seem to get them to connect. Anytime I try to connect to my laptop it says the laptop doesn't support that service (BT PAN) even though that same laptop was able to set up BT PAN from my old Mogul.

have u unchecked " allow usb connections" in WMDC on laptop? i'm tethered right now with stock rom on laptop with windows seven. the only one i left checked was "allow device to connect to intenet while connected to pc"

But how did u get BT ICS to work ? i dont even have the BT option on ICS screen. what rom are u using

I have a win 7 64 bit netbook and can tether it to my TP2 via usb. I installed the 3 cabs that did not require any reg edits (btw I have all boxes checked in windows mobile device manager). No ICS via BT though which is what I want can anyone do it? I get error 67 when trying to ICS via BT.

I was able to connect via my BT-PAN, but have not been able to successfully replicate it.

System: Vista Ultimate
Using bluetooth dongle IVT BlueSoleil

Someone suggested using wmwifirouter v3.5 that has the bluetooth option for our phone.

If I am successful again I will report back.

BT-PAN success again.

1. Went into my BlueSoleil and clicked on "my device properties"
2. under services clicked on "Bluetooth Personal Area Networking"
3. clicked on properties
4. in popup clicked on "Option" tab
5. unchecked "Enable DHCP Server"

These previous steps got my phone to assign an IP address to my laptop and everything works now.

Wow, tried to do the same to get my bt working but wasn't able to do it. In fact I couldn't connect at all via usb today so I tried reinstalling the cabs, no success. I then uninstalled the 2 cabs that would uninstall and tried a cab found on sprintusers forum and it works easily with usb but the bt option is gone.

I appreciate all the replies, at the time I posted, I was running the stock rom but I'm currently running mighty's WAR rom and will let y'all know if anything works...

UPDATE: I'm posting this after successfully connecting (USB) using Boo Boo's instructions (since the cabs weren't working for me before, I went the more manual route). Will test BT next...
