WmWifiRouter - can't surf the net on the phone while running?
 

Are you supposed to be able to use the net featuers on the phone while the router is running? Opera says cannot connect to (any) host when I try. It seems odd to me that it works that way.

Is WmWifiRouter the best application for this? (I need the NAT functionality, not simple web proxy)

wmwifirouter and htc wifi cause this. the only way to tether and use the phone is with usb

I can use the net or anything that accesses the net while running the HTC WIFI Router to serve up internet to my laptop or other wifi device. It normally comes pre-built into the roms that I flash so i cant say if its a hack that the chef's of the roms have done.


I.E. have wifirouter running and connected to my laptop i can ring up opera or IE on the phone and surf web while still using the net on my lappy that the phone is feeding.

no just have the internet sharing fix. that's all. but I do have to initiate a data connection on the phone first then start htc wifi sharing

maybe this is obvious, but why do ppl use wmwifi?

most of us use it becuase we

1) used it in pre-beta stages and have lifetime update free
2) purchased it way back when and want to get our moneies worth
3) used a feature only it provides
4) stick with what ya know
5) cant figure out HTC Wifi Sharing
6) suspect HTC Wifi Sharing

Did I miss something?

I got a free copy from donating in the pre-beta stages and the program works well, so I don't have a reason to use anything else.

Now if I had to pay for it, I would probably go with the free version as I don't use it enough to warrant paying anything. If it was something I used all the time then I would probably buy wmwifi just because of the support and updates from someone I trust.
