Music player

HTC Music player is very erratic. Sometimes it takes forever to load & then it plays for 10 seconds then stops or sometimes a full song then skips the next. ERRATIC!

I Have spent HOURS trying to figure this out. I THINK it has to do with playlists...which for me are mandatory.

So I ask you out there that use the HTC music player:

1. do have a problem with/without playlists? I use WMP11 to create/sync lists (tried WMP 10 same problem)
2. is it related to album cover art for you?
3. what rom & version 2.1 or 2.5 & what carrier?
4. do you have a solution that works for you?
5. Is it possible to burn a rom using an older more reliable player?
6. Is it related to CDDB trying to add album art?

Re: Music player

I use WMP or Pocket player - which work but I like the way HTC looks & the GUI - it's easy to use & convenient.

I can live without it but I like to get it to work & see who does have it working to solve the mystery.

So this is kinda like a poll/fact finding mission.

Re: Music player

CorePlayer is the best out there and I highly recommend it, but I have noticed some errors between the File Explorer, network files, and CorePlayer. Sometimes I try and play a file on my LAN and it brings up a select file menu in CorePlayer that I can't bypass to actually play the file.

If you use WinAMP on your PC, you'll love WinamPQ for Pocket PC. It's so cool that it's a mini version of the PC one. Skins and all, too.

MortPlayer is pretty cool, too.

Re: Music player

Core player is great but its not finger friendly. I wish there were some really good finger friendly skins for wmp.

Re: Music player

None of you mentioned whether you've had success with builtin HTC music player? Anybody?

Re: Music player

I have a similar issue, it's with WMP, but the problems sound the same.

Here's what mine does:

I create playlists on my computer using WMP 11 and sync them to my TP2 (stock Sprint rom).

When I look at the playlists using the phones WMP some (but not all) of the songs will have an exclamation point next to them and will not play. Usually the error is that the path cannot be found. But when you look at all music, not in a playlist, just all music, the song is there and plays fine ?!?!

I also have Pocket Player. If I open the exact same playlist with Pocket Player, all the songs are there and play just fine ?!?!

I have spent HOURS and HOURS trying to figure this out and have not been able to.

Yes I have hard reset phone, uninstalled and reinstalled WMP 11 on my computer, opened the playlists manually using a playlist editor and they look fine (I knew they would because Pocket Player reads them fine).

The fact that WMP doesn't play correctly doesn't really bother me since I prefer Pocket Player. The fact that I can't figure it out does bother me... lol

I have searched and searched and searched... No luck.
