Unhappy huge problem need help asap!!!!!!

ok so i have a sprint tp2 thats flashed to the lastest version of mighty rom.

now all of a sudden when i try and charge it with teh wall charger the device thinks it is being plugged into my computer but it still wont charge. i tried to turn it off and let it charge but that didnt seem to work at all.

so i then figured i would charge it via my computer but it doesnt charge and now it wont even sync! so clearly i have a loose usb connection that is not allowing the device to charge but more importantly i cant flash back to the stock sprint rom in order to take it back to the sprint store.

what the hell do i do?

sidenote ive only had the phone for like 2 months. after owning the tp1 and now this tp2 im really really discouraged with the quality of htc products overall.

Re: huge problem need help asap!!!!!!

Did you try the usual stuff such as turning it off, taking the battery out, putting it back in and rebooting?

Re: huge problem need help asap!!!!!!

Most people I've seen with that problem ended up finding that their TP2 Charge Port was on its way out. They ended up returning it for a replacement. Sorry, I know that's not what you wanted to hear.

If you feel it's the rom, flash back to stock and see. But I'm almost certain, it's a faulty device. Sorry.

Re: huge problem need help asap!!!!!!

their is an option in the Startbutton, Settings, System Tab, Power, When Device is turned on, do not charge the battery when connected to the PC. Now I dont know if it applys to what your going threw, it kind of sounds like it doesn't but I was just thinking that maybe its something to look at. I had problems with my old TP1 when somehow this option was checked it didn't want to charge from my car charger. It took me a day or so to notice that this had be checked but after I unchecked it I had no problems.

Re: huge problem need help asap!!!!!!

You can always flash back to stock via the SD method....

HOW TO: flash a Rom or Radio on your TP2 from the SD card

Also, make sure you relock. You can find the link for that here:

RhodiumW CDMA Worldphone HardSPL Unlocker Release

Search for "relock" in that post.

Tyger has a good idea, check that setting. Good one man, I wouldn't have ever thought of that.

And if it IS a faulty device, Sprint is really quick about sending out replacements, so don't despair I recently made an insurance claim on my old Touch Pro, and they had a TP2 out to me within 2 days.

Re: huge problem need help asap!!!!!!

thanks for the responses everyone but its not a matter of just returning it. the device thinks it is connected to the computer and WONT charge. so unchecking that doesnt help at all. also when i connect it to the computer it will NOT sync therefore my delema is getting the mighty rom off the phone so i can return it back to sprint. i know its a hardware issue not the MR software. i think the only one who understood my problem is covkid. but thanks everyone looks like i need to try to flash to stock via the SD card.

I understood your problem and was just giving you a heads up that it may be a faulty device, not a bad rom. So, yes, the steps to take to return, would obviously be to reflash stock. The SD card method works fine, as covkid mentioned and sounds like it is your only option at this point. Good luck with the return.

Re: huge problem need help asap!!!!!!

Your best bet...IMHO...

1. Get a replacement TP2 from Sprint.
2. Use the replacement TP2 to charge your battery and load Stock Rom onto your SD Card.
3. Load Stock Rom onto Old TP2
4. Return Old TP2 to Sprint

Notes:

If you push the USB end to the side when it's inserted in your TP2, you may get a temporary (as long as you're pushing) connection. Try all four direction, and both ends of the cable just to make sure. I've had cheap cables that acted like this. Then you can charge, flash, etc.

Without AS, I don't think you'll be "relocking" via the exe. I haven't seen an .nbh version.

Good luck.
