actually.. i could deal with the slow down... my "speed" test really is just quickly scrolling back and forth across the tabs in the UI and thats often is slower in MM 12/06

I would deal with that but sometimes i get freezes that require a soft-reset.. then i have to pry off my cover and hit the reset button.. which is too annoying to have to do on any regular basis.. Stock rom has NEVER frozen up on me.. even after i installed all the junk on there..

People go to custom ROMs since they are 6.5. There are some other features you get such as the weather on the home screen which you wouldn't get on 6.1.

Then they are taking everything from a phone that is better than the TP2 and putting it on the TP2. So it will be slower but the advantages make up for it.

that is not true ,
you can get it from SSK or calkulin ROMs/kitchens

Mike's ROMs Rocks , but you know what ....it is not mike , It is WM6.5
Mike's ROM in the scale of WM6.5 ROMs is fast reponsive and very stable., but it is the OS which is way slower than 6.1.

It is not Mike's ROM , it is WM6.5 which is a TURTLE ! compared to WM 6.1

I've never had stock or Mighty freeze on me.....

Stock Opera is crap, you hit back on PPCGeeks on the lower Opera tab and it doesn't go back a page like it should.....
Opera like brings up to the previous post from where I was reading....
I have had to hit the back button like 5+ times to get to the previous page....
Ram usage gets ridiculously high on Stock rom and cleanram doesn't recover the ram as good as it has for me on Mighty's....
Stock doesn't have features/tweaks that Mike has preloaded....
I could go on and on....

Are you installing something on Mighty's that your not installing on stock?
What your normal installs on either rom?

I haven't noticed any slowdowns when comparing 6.5 to 6.1 since the very virgin releases of 6.5 on the TP....

Same speed for me.....

Now when slapping sense 2.5 or using any 6.5.X on any rom it starts to get slower.....

On my stock rom I install:
Goodthings2Life clean up
a custom task bar
Ringo 1.5
total commander
spb backup
flip clock for sprint
clear tab slider
a set of Leo tabs
magicall
NeuPower controlpanel
1% battery increment
googlemaps
icontact
idialer
and a slew of other apps

on the MM 12/06 all i install is
neupower controlpanel

nothing else..

and even before installing that its still slow and freezes

i think my phone just doesnt play nice with MM 12/06 for some reason..

i havent seen any other posts about this sort of problem so i wonder if its just me or if people are tolerating the slowdown and instability just because they NEED to be on a custom rom..

When i had my TP1 I mainly used mighty roms because of the speed stability and great battery life. Ive had my TP2 for about 3weeks and and i generally like the stock rom, but since mighty's roms have pretty much always been faster and more battery efficient than stock i decided to give it a try.

i tried the release from late November and it actually was slower than stock (especially in the first minute or so after boot) and it would often freeze.. This was with no additional software added except the neupower control panel so that i can monitor battery use.

i went back to stock..I then tried the Dec 6 Rom with hopes that it would be more stable and faster... unfortunately it has the same problem for me..

soo..

AM I THE ONLY ONE??

Works like a champ for me. Even this brand new Love ROM with windows 6.5.3 is faster then stock. I love it.

CFay's is a nice alternative, Silence just released, if you looking a 6.5 release with just 2.1 sense.....

Re: Am I the only one having problems with Mighty Rom on the TP2?

not to go a little ot here but there is just several reasons in hethis thread why i want to get an iphone and im not trying to bash other phones.

let me start of by saying this is my first smartphone and i do not own any apple products, not even an ipod. I cant say that windows mobile has been the friendliest to me. Apps are horrible compared to the iphone, more expensive, and no matter wich rom you have it just does not seem as fast as the iphone in terms of response time (not talking about service wise). Im really getting tired of all the soft resets that i have to do and when i close an application that im running, it really isnt closed lol.

It also seems to me like, you learn to do something one way on the phone...then try it that way again and its different until u soft reset and it goes back to how it was. seems like it has a mind of its own sometimes.

the reason that i post this is because it seems to happen with every rom. i keep downloading newly dated roms in hopes that it will be perfect and i am let down.....not taking anything away from the chefs, you guys kick ass!!! its just wm os isnt as friendly to me as the iphone seems to be.

sounds like a case of "the grass is always greener"

Anyhow, as you said, no offense, but you have to be smarter than the phone you use. I dont consider the iPhone to be a true pda phone but more of a smartphone. The iphone has several limitations that I can easily conquer with the WM phone. No phone is perfect and searching for one that is perfect is an excersize in futility.

In my opinion, the Touch Pro 2 is about as close to perfect as I have seen.
