HTC Passion or stick with TP2???

I have been offered a free upgrade at work to any Android phone. We had about half our employees jump to the Motorola Droid when it came out. I wanted to hold out longer until I jumped on the Android wagon. Reading about the HTC Passion makes me think it is time especially since work will pay the bill! What do you all think? I really enjoy flashing the different ROMs plus I would be missing a lot of apps that I already paid for especially Slingplayer!!!

Re: HTC Passion or stick with TP2???

depends. do you need a keyboard?? if so then the TP2 or the Droid would be the choice...

if not then the Passion is the perfect device to use the upgrade on

Re: HTC Passion or stick with TP2???

I prefer a physical keyboard, so it really does just come down to whether or not you want a physical keyboard.

Though I love my Touch Pro2 and everyone thinks it is the most awesome phone ever.

One girl I know even calls it the "God Phone" hahaha.

Re: HTC Passion or stick with TP2???

I wouldn't give up my TP2 for an android phone just yet. There are still several things missing that would keep me from making the jump:

-Standalone GPS software (that works even when signal doesn't)
-Decent media playback software (that plays unconverted xvid movies)
-Logmein
-Decent hardware keyboard

I'm sure there are other things. Screen res used to be one of them, but the Droid and future phones have WVGA or better, so that's good now. The three things listed above are hard to give up in spite of Androids benefits. But that's just my opinion.

Jumped ship for Android now that WM is officially useless.

CoPilot 8 and Iguidance work great on Android devices. I use it on my hero and it does not require any service.

Really? I guess you learn something new everyday. I wasn't aware that iGuidance had an android version. That's certainly one thing to help push me towards android, just two more to go.

EDIT: I don't see any mention of Android on iGuidance website. You have a link?

So then my reasoning against android still stands as is. They are close, but not quite ready to use it as my primary phone.
