Groovefish no longer works?
 

I'm running the mighty rom 12.06.09 rom and for some reason, my groovefish doesnt work anymore? It did for like 3-4 days then suddenly went kapoot.....anyone have any ideas?

My installation also no longer works in that it won't return any search results. WHatever shall I do for really cheesy Christmas music this season??

doesn't work for me either. it really is one of those great show off applications that I actually use on the daily. it no longer returns any search results. hopefully it'll be fixed soon

Its an app that keeps going up and down. Just find the thread on XDA-Developers and follow it for updated. Since its an app that works off the main core of Grooveshark, it probably keeps getting blocked and such so the dev has to constantly keep fixing it.

these are my exact thoughts as well....oh well c'est la vie! i guess we just gotta wait for a permanent fix.

This app is always going to be an arms race. I decided to delete it before I got too attached to its functionality.

lol.. and i thought it was just me and my groovefish that didnt work.

There isn't a revised copy. Just replace the DLL file that you download from XDA and reboot phone. Did it and Groovefish is working again.

From what I've read about the app, it's not competing with Grooveshark, but it's also not being "supported" by them either. He's made them aware of the application, but they haven't responded.

The changes he's been making are just updates to a "version" in the code, which is getting blocked. Not exactly like he's navigating around roadblocks like the Pre and iTunes.

I am glad I am not the only one, if this app just continues to work, break, fix, work, break, fix... I will just get rid of it then.

I'm surprised the developer doesn't just rewrite the software to do an online update of the above mentioned DLL each time the app is launched. If the DLL doesn't match, download the new version and restart the app. That would remove the end users frustration. =)

I noticed it was getting harder and harder to get a song to play. Now it returns fast results and plays almost immediately. Thanks for the link @ xda!

Is Groovefish still working for you guys? I ran the quick fix for Groovefish 0.32 the other day and it was working fine till this morning, now it's stopped working once again, at least for me it has.

Just tested the ext package and the cab with the updated .dll , both methods are returning search results and streaming :)

You will have to keep updating everytime it goes down. It seems from what I have gathered that Grooveshark doesn't like us using their service like this. JMO.

amazing how many people put this on their favorite app list or their apps they cant live without when it sounds like it barely works..... I know it didnt for me...

It's unfortunate that you have not seen it working . it is like music on demand and the sound quality is very nice . That is what makes it frustrating , I am unaware of anything else like it. I can get other people's playlist to play on the grooveshark website through Skyfire but the quality and inability to specifically pick a song to listen to make you appreciate this little gem even more .

i am testing this right now, you had me worried since i used it this morning and it worked fine. it still is working for me, however i do notice that certain artists/songs will not play, it'll just stick at requesting stream and not budge. i suggest using scilor's latest fix as well as trying a different artist to search from. this app is a must...i wish it had a playlist & cached your past searches, or totally worked without all the patches...but im satisfied with what we have. for you who havent used this, you are truly missing out. good luck!

well I have uninstalled and reinstalled with the same fixes i had before and it is "working" currently although the search takes a long time , This thing is so quirky, unfortunately.
I used the exact same files and fix as i did before. I wonder if there is a "limiter" somewhere within grooveshark that recognizes how many songs you play possibly? I doubt it but it is very strange how and when it decides not to work. I just wish there was a permanent workaround,,,and please do not flame me, I love the app and appreciate the work , that is what just makes it more frustrating at times.
