Re: Made a reset hole on sprint touch pro without a drill

I did the "drill the hole thing" one day after I bought the phone (& I bought it the day they came out). The hole is so small you can barely even see it (& perfectly aligned)

Whoever thought the current setup made sense must have been an engineer or something.........

sweet, wonder how that turned out? People there's always more than one way to do things geese, and these back covers are not expensive at all, if i messed up i could of easily get another cover. Its not the end of the world, plus i tested this on a htc touch just to see if the hole would be to big.

Why is your phone getting snow n water? Unless you get the phone/hole soaked you've got nothing to worry about.

Precisely, 8mm below vol down button & 2mm from case edge, 1/16 " drill bit, case on a piece of wood... drill out to in on the case. Perfection.

Another method

I used to make holes for guitar pick keychains, earrings and necklaces using a safety pin.
Once you measure the precise spot where a hole is needed, take a safety pin which has electrical tape or something similar on the "lock end" - to insulate it from heat.
Then, hold the point end over an open flame (stove, lighter, etc) and let it get red hot.
Then hold it to the marking and insert slowly and steadily - pulling back smoothly.

This creates a hole with a little plastic bead surrounding the hole. It gives it a finished look of sorts.

Feel free to test it on another thin sliver of plastic to see what it looks/feels like.

Even better! Would have to use something a tad bigger & do a 2nd time, as the stylus has a ways to go into the hole.. a pin is a tad small..

Re: Made a reset hole on sprint touch pro without a drill

I did the heated pin method awhile back and it worked perfectly fine. I would recommend that method.
