Re: [REQ]PRJ[IDEA]app to Emulate D-Pad with hardware zoom bar on rhodium or topaz
You can emulate a dpad by reassigning the hard keys with AE Button Plus. You don't have to lose the original functions of your hard keys because you can assign more than one task to each key. You may need to reassign certain keys to avoid conflicts though, ie the default setting for the Send key (Voice Command). I'ts not perfect and the scrolling won't be as fast as an actual dpad, but if you're a dpad junkie then you might find it useful.
The program used to be free but costs $7.99 now. There's a 14 day free trial. http://ae.inc.ru/aebplus.php

Developer's thread on XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=554240 I'm actually using that for a hardware d-pad of sorts as well... not nearly as effective as the TP1, Mogul, PPC-6700, and even the 6600 :/ |

Re: [REQ]PRJ[IDEA]app to Emulate D-Pad with hardware zoom bar on rhodium or topaz
does that zoom bar have this many clickable points? i was under the impression only swipe left and right actually works.
using RhodiumKbd... how do you map the zoombar exactly? I myself mapped vol up/down to page up/down using vol double-click up/down to raise/lower volume. this has an added benefit of not having the annoying volume screen black out the phone for 3-5 seconds when you accidently hit it. WM/TP2 has so many annoying user interface quirks it's mind-boggling, thankfully you can fix most of them where MS, HTC, etc. don't seem to use these phones in real life (or just like doing 5 clicks and waiting 10 seconds to do what can be done in 1 click instantly). |

You can count me in as a beta tester if you get this off the ground. I would love this!

Wow, the original poster has a great idea. I could definitely use something like that.

I think an on-screen virtual D-pad would be more useful. A 10-15mm square area at he bottom of the screen that comes up when Opera starts, disappears when the keyboard is slid out, then reappears when the keyboard is closed.
