Wirelessly posted (HTC Touch Pro2: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 8.12; MSIEMobile6.0) Sprint T7380)

So, having read this entire thread, by cmonex's words, all that is being collected is:
1) Ip address
2) PC address
3) IMEI

Is this correct?

First, I am on my mobile phone. As noted bt the little line of text above this.

Second, I asked my question and that is all. Do I need 10 lines to ask a simple question?

Back on the topic.

Why did people pay the 5.12 again? They simply coudn't wait 24 hours after their request or the unlocker team just decided to start reply again?

I paid again because I wasn't able to contact olipro and I didn't get a response from cmonex.

No worries though, I just hope I don't have to pay again (a 3rd time). Cmonex, when we do have our phone replaced and want to unlock the new phone, what is the best way to reach you? Thanks!

I dunno where you tried to contact us, I dont check the PM's on this site often, but we have the support site, you know ;) (the link is in 1st post of HSPL release thread)

As for my "pure" comment, I am simply referring to the way in which you choose to blacklist IPs/IMEIs. I'll give you a perfect example... When my first TP2 had to be replaced for dead pixels, I took my replacement phone home and tried to run HSPL. I got the commercial message... fair 'nuff I have already unlocked a phone from this PC/WAN IP (granted I relocked it before bringing it back to Sprint).

What is not ok, is for me to be unable to then take my replacement phone to my office or use a neighbor's wifi (with permission of course) and run HSPL. There is no good reason why you should blacklist the phone until you allow the IMEI or the user pays. It's not like some commercial phone salesman is going around all day war driving for open wifi access points and reinstalling windows just to unlock some phones...

the RUU files are not that much hidden... and this way it keeps the local dir clean! :)
you'll have to talk to Olipro (perhaps over XDA PM) about the blacklisting complaint.

cmonex: Simply have your relocker send the IP Address/PC ID to your server upon successfully relocking a phone. You can then grant that user another unlock. Hell, you could even throw a 48 hour time limit on it or something. Problem solved and much less hassle on you with support emails.

that was considered, but that would be an obvious hole for commercial resellers.

And it's even worse when they call it "warez" if someone else does the exact same thing to them that they did to HTC.

Still waiting for them to explain to me why it's considered "warez" if someone tweaks this app and reposts it, yet it's not considered warez when they tweaked HTC's app and posted it (and even charged money for it).

And while we're at it- why is it okay for them to ignore all of the laws ont his matter and simply tell customers "don't use it if you don't like our illegal policies." There are all kinds of consumer protection laws that govern the way business is done. They have thrown all of that out the window, and simply said, "don't use it if you don't like it." OS on the one hand, they want to be treated like a real company (requiring us to pay) but on the other hand, they don't want to deliver like a real company (following the laws). You can't have it both ways...

1) it is warez because you would be using a patch of OUR OWN CODE. maybe there is a better expression, I don't know, I'm not a native English speaker.
2) you SUPPOSE it should be free, but you only decide that if you make the program YOURSELF. anyway, we DON'T REQUIRE donations for private users, they have CHOICES. don't pay for it if you know you are going to be sorry for paying, instead send a ticket and wait a little for our solution.
3) I don't understand your comment about Olipro's reply (where he said "if you don't like it don't use it" or something along those lines). what is a "real company" supposed to do? I seriously don't know, as I'm not American, nor is Olipro. thanks.

Having said all of that- I did pay for mine. Even though I am a residential customer, I still paid- twice.

1) yes you are discounting it. for some reason this community has many people who like to complain all the time, it is not like others (such as XDA). I didn't really care about the nagging before the release, but this is getting to me a bit. I'm almost seriously thinking of not doing hacks again for american phones. I don't even LIVE in the US and naturally I couldn't care less about US phone releases.
2) you shouldn't have paid if you resent it afterwards! this is why it is in a sense still a donation, because you have the choice to go to us and ask for it free or if urgent AND don't mind donating then do so.

And just so everone is clear, I am not a commercial user. Like most of us, we have friends or family who also have a Pro2, and they are not as geeky as I am

why, who the hell told you you needed to send the tickets under 2 different names? I certainly didn't. unless I misunderstand you mean that by cloak&dagger activities.
you could have just told me the truth about the 2nd device, that's much easier, I suggest you don't use the 2nd ticket, but tell me in the 1st one (the one made under your own name) what the 3rd phone is for.
