Unless the guy was upper management.. I would be wary of what he said... Most of the sales associates only have a 1 to 2 months heads up on what is coming out...

Not to mention the fact that HTC themselves said that it would not be coming stateside.

How do those of you using this phone surf on EDGE? I can see if you are always near WIFI it may not be a problem. EDGE is really slow where I live.

I know HTC has a Wimax phone is the works, so maybe that is what the Sprint guy is referring to. Touch HD would need a whole new radio to work on Wimax, right?

Well I honestly have Wi-Fi access about 85% of the time. For the rest, I just use Opera Mini. That's such a fast little browser that I don't really notice too bad (when I use it).

And I'm not sure if I understood you right, but if you were asking if this HD could ever work with WiMax because it might need a new radio...I don't think it would work. Since this phone is GSM.

2 Questions though:

I have heard a lot of stuff about WiMax being GSM. Is it GSM and CDMA, or just one or the other or....what? confused...

Is there anyway to use this phones WCDMA bands to work w/ Sprint that anyone knows of lol? I'm 95% sure the answer is no, but still thought I'd ask.

Wimax will be it's on little thing. It was developed by intel if I remember corretly to be an open 4g network platform. So in answer to any phones we may have now working on it the answer is no, unless someone goe's insane and makes a wimax, CDMA/GSM hybrid type device. Not sure why you would do it though, would be expensive and probably gigantic.

I got one but also got a problem on it. I can not adjust volume in call and the call interface seems something wrong for it looks a mess white display I can not read the contents on it probably. Any folks met the same?
